Ugh, don't get J-pop into the US, I love it because it's so different. It'd become a fad and then become really unpopular. I wouldn't want that...Better to let the lucky ones, which would be us, listen to our J-pop in peace. People'd prolly make fun of it though. If it were introduced to the US, I think the brilliant green, Namie Amuro, Koda Kumi and Do As Infinity would probably be the ones the US would like the most...No Ayumi, Ai or ELT.

Wow, that's a little ridiculous... I like a lot of elegant female-fronted metal and other types of "odd" music that has a general following here, maybe not as huge as people like Britney Spears or Green Day, but it's still pretty popular and the bands sell out their shows here. The problem is partially in the record labels but mostly it's hard to tour here and touring is the only way for small bands to promote themselves well.

Jpop is relatively popular here, just because the majority of Japanese bands do well enough in Japan that they don't want to extend their sales overseas, and most average Americans don't want to pay $30 for a CD with lyrics they don't understand, doesn't mean we're a close-minded country musically.
