Yeah, the only people that know her here in California are anime fans.

Not even popular in WA.. unless you go to any Asian community and ask them "Do you know Hamasaki Ayumi?"

These two girls I met at my junior high school .. they knew of Ayu and wanted to borrow one of my CD's.. which I let them

I live in Malaysia, and I travel to Singapore frequently.

Malaysia: ayu's hey day's probably over, that during the 2001~2003. Currently she seems known to a lot of people but her fans are shattered around the nation, although she is acknowledged for her trendy fashion sense.

Singapore: Ayu's still enjoying her fame in this island state.

Hmm...she is not popular at all in Sweden. But there's at least 100 fans , we even have our own website/forum (www.ayumihamasaki.se).

Nobody knows who she is if I ask them and it is irritating! But if she was really popular in Sweden I don't think I'd listen to her..I like to listen to things that other people don't! It makes me feel special..

I live in Louisville, Kentucky...not a lot of people around here know of her. I have a few friends who also like her, and my friend who is a DJ kind of likes her as well. It turns out, he actually knew about her, but never realized that Ayu and the Ayumi Hamasaki that I listen to are the same person, so when I told him that he was like, OH YEAH!

Oh, and I once ran into Ayumi bootleg cds in an Asian market.

That's the kind of reaction I would get from people from my country, just to show how much of popular ayui is here *sarcasm*
haha i got the same kind of reaction in england, except they said her voice was like a squealing pig

thats funny that brasil doesnt seem to care about japanese music, because i was in hmv in shibuya [tokyo] yesterday and in the world music section the brasilian selection is HUGE, its bigger than all other countries hahaha.

i think on estimate there could be up to 50people max who know about hama ayu in da uk, but that might even be too optimistic

In Sydney it ain't any better. I only know 2 other ppl who still or has listened to Ayu. Whenever I listen to Ayu, they're like... ahh no are you listening to the hoe again?

When one of her songs is called Free And Easy, you'll understand why

Me living in Ireland, the chances of her being really popular here are verrry low.

When I mention Ayumi Hamasaki to anyone, I get a reply like "whaaa? who's that?!"

I let em listen to some of her music on my iPod, they either love it, or hate it. Mostly they're pretty impressed with it

I live in Germany an the most people don't know her. Maybe there're some trance fans who know her from the remixes but this is still a small group. But I prefer the normal JPop versions.

Sick people, that's a nice title that they shouldn't have twisted up like that.
