Oil? Eh, perhaps... I didn't really put much thought into that PV. The colour of my computer screen probably made it look like it was blood, though I agree, it could very well be oil. It'd make a lot more sense if it was blood, though.

I didn't think HANABI was sad at all because of the cheesy fake crying

It didn't look fake to me. She looked frusterated and trapped in a world she didn't want to be in, and just wanted a way out, so she was really stressed and shocked. That's what I thought, anyway. :\

HANABI is suppose to be depressing.
think of all the song titles with HANABI in it... example: 'Kingyo Hanabi'

Hmm, Hanabi II was a good PV and I appreciated her attepmt at crying... but it wasn't all that sad to me... even with her emotion... well lets just say it wasn't as powerful as others...

I thought Dearest was sad when I first saw it.
Because of you was very sad when you think about the situation...
Heaven was sad because of the lyrics... kinda plain PV though

Eh. Must be a conspiracy. "Hanabi" translates to "fireworks," so there's not really anything special about it...

Japanese people find that fireworks are sad and nostalgic...
It may make them think about past relationships... etc.

Kingyo Hanabi is a song by Ai Otsuka. It translates into English as "Goldish Fireworks."

Really, Ayu_desu? They find them nostalgic? I'll be deep in thought when I see fireworks at the beach on New Years Eve.

Yeah it's Tar & Feathers. Being tarred & feathered means being humiliated.

WHATEVER is the saddest PV for me. I mean, first the angel feels the church's pain, remembering when it got burned down by feeling it, and then finds the one beautiful thing left in the ruins, and gets trapped & dies trying to reach it. That's so freaking sad!

Ohh.. so thats the point of the WHATEVER PV?.. o.O;; I've never really gotten it..
I know my 2 year old loves the song though.. she calls it "Woah woah".. since that's how it starts.. even though its really "Wow".. but Ayu says it "woah"

yeah, "Whoa" has always been written in japanese lyrics as "wow"... ayu, b'z, boa... everyone has it written like that. i have no idea why. While we're on the subject why does Namie pronounce "Wo" as "ooh" in "WoWa"?

Anyway, yeah, WHATEVER is one of those PVs where you gotta watch the non-ayu parts to get it. But yeah it's really sad o_o

Alterna's pretty sad too... reminds me of the old Stepford Wives. What hit me and got me crying was actually when they cut to "The Stage of Brightness"... i hadn't seen caps or anything yet, and I didn't know what really happened in the PV so it took me by surprise. It's really upsetting.
