Wow, I've never heard of this before... but Ayu's irises are natural. Check out all of her childhood pics, sheesh. If she wears contacts, then they certainly aren't to make her irises bigger lol!!

i'm pretty sure Ayu's eyes are totally real (size-wise) my eyes are kinda big looking but i don't use contacts to make em like that...

Well, Ayu DOES wear contacts but that is because she needs them.(there are some pics of her wearing glasses when she was younger.) I don't know if she wears any special kind though to make her eyes look bigger.

That's news to me.

I wouldn't be surprised if her irises were airbrushed to achieve the same effect in some photos.

Not 100%, but I am pretty sure. There was also a vid posted here a while ago of her giving an interview about Sumomo from either 95/96 and she is wearing glasses.(her character in the movie does not wear glasses.)

Well, the contacts are pretty popular in Asia. I have been wanting to get contacts in years (I have glasses) but I have this prism thing in my glasses because I have a natural lazy eye.

Am I a little iffy about these kind of things selling over the internet?

me too, i didn't know she wears contact lenses.. so she can wear hose incredible lenses, right? not all t e time, but sometimes...

and yes photoshop + ayu is a tandem that you cannot separate

I thought Ayumi had eye surgery to make them bigger. Just look at the difference between her in Poker Face and in Bold & Delicious. She's definitely done somethin with em.

a lot of girls wear black contacts in Japan to get the "angel eyes" as they call them. She probably wears them, but not all the time, sometimes you can see the brown in Ayu's eyes, then, I'm sure she's not wearing them.
