Everything since (miss)understood (The album) has been bad IMO. CDL, Startin', Born to Be, even her weird headband look in the beautiful fighters CM looks bad. She's losing her touch, and hopefully she'll wow us (As in the unsatisfied fans) sometime soon.

1- Her stuff lately have not been great. At all. Single, album, covers...

2- It's not because we critisize her that we hate her.

3- Everything is a matter of taste.

4- Yes, Ayu's recent stuff have been dissapointing.

5- As long as you like her stuff, which you do, that's great for you.

6- There's always hope for Ayu's upcoming stuff, for those who didn't like the new material.

You also have to remember Ayu is also human So she's bound to make some moves that might disappoint some fans.

can we just agree 2 disagree? some fans feel this way & others feel another way...all in all; it all kind of has to do with honesty&love for Ayu at the same time.

I know sometimes she puts out something some fans don't like; but think about the others who do...she doesn't put out anything specifically for you OR me; she put's it out because she (& Max Matsura) like it enough to do so. I will be honest, I HAVE NEVER liked the "LOVEppears" album all that much. It's too "single-styled" for me as far as the music BUT, I don't let that change my opinion on the other things she's put out. But that's just my taste I guess...& you are entitled to your own tastes whether I like it or not.

Yeah, it hurts when people say stuff like "ayu needs to retire" &stuff like that because I love most of her material and I'd hate to say goodbye to her "still-standing legacy". But you know, that's how some people feel about her or have grown to think that way towards her.

*Technically, I don't believe there is such a thing as a TRUE ayu fan...if you know how to correctly say/spell her name that's good enough in my eyes. But then again, my eyes don't really count as *official* hamasaki eyes now do they?? ^^;

Sometimes, fans don't like what they hear; get disappointed and give harsh comments.

It's okay to voice what you think of course, but being too harsh with your comments tend to give other fans' impression 'that you hate ayu'.

Maybe you should rethink your own views, because no one is going to change for you.

Frankly, I think fans who criticize Ayu from time to time are more rational and legitimate. Nobody is going to pay attention to a fan who's always like, "Ayu is the best! She has no faults!" People are just going to think you're obsessed and not take you or Ayu very seriously. Somehow I don't think Ayu wants her fans being blindly following her around like dogs--she already has dogs, for goodness sakes! The people who give honest feedback in any situation are the most valuable and helpful. Look at your own experiences and you will probably agree.

Even worse than people who criticize too much are the people who think they have the right to tell others how to be "good fans".

I am not going to change for you either. i dont even noe who the hell are you. stop talking.

at least i am a supportive fan. unlike pple like you. i did not even teach others how to be a good fan. so why kick up yet ANOTHER big fuss over it? people are jus so weird nowadays.

i am not trying to say that those who criticise ayu are not her fans. but it seems that the extent you guys condemn Bold & Delicious is too.. cant be describe using words. same for Startin' PV... argh! annoying. i am not condemning u guys too.. its jus a difference of perspective. period.

I think that it's also due to the fact that the last year has really lacked consistency in music. THis is very present in her latest album which sounds more like a "best of" album than a real album with a feel. The only problem is that it's a best of without the "best" songs. (m) u is the only album I have to pre-program if I want to listen to the entire thing.

let's us appreciate for what Ayu've done so far..
more over she said that (miss)understood album was the album that she always wanted the songs to be like.. more to american-ish tones...
no need to critize on her too badly...
look at her every concerts...
still full of people, rite?
if they don't like the songs from (miss)understood, they won't go to see any of the (miss)understood arena tour 06 concerts..

Guess we have the right to criticize her. If we don't like it, then we can say it. I think her covers are bad right now, her PVs and her new songs [B&D, Startin', Born to Be) are extremely boring and the sales have been pretty bad....

It's not lately, btw. It always have been like that... lots of people disliked the Step You cover, the Fairyland PV and the Heaven PV [both very well done and good, IMO, but...), the A BEST album being released, the Duty cover, the Rainbow album, the 2003-2004 tour...

I don't agree with, you're opinions are a little imature in my opinion. If people disliked B&D, then they have the right to say so. Most people here agree the fans have the right to criticize her, so yes...

Plus, it's not like everything started with B&D. PLEASE, ever since the first day I visited this board there were lots of critics. It's not a new thing.

Why the person would stop talking, btw? Because you don't know her? I think everything SheFliesHigher said is true and you should listen to it. BUT, if you don't want to, too bad. You have the right not to..

Oh well, the end. I'm not continue with this because it'll become a stupid fight, but that's what I think...

Seriously, guys, cool down. If this gets into finger pointing this thread will be closed.

We get one of this topics every month or so it seems. People are allowed to have varying opinions. If we all just decided not to worry about what other people's opinions are then a lot of tension around here would be gone.

There is no formula to being a good fan, opinions are not facts, and we are each allowed to think what we want to think. It's really not that hard to understand.

and what's wrong with criticism? haven't you heard of constructive criticism? how are people going to learn and grow if they don't hear from the critics? supporting ayu doesn't mean we applaud her every move.

doesn't that just contradict ur 1st sentence. 1st u said, u dont know who the person is, but then u say that he isn't a supportive fan. how do u know (s)he isnt supportive when u dont even know "who the hell" they are?

and is there a scale from 1-10 where u can measure how much support a fan puts out to their favourite artists? no.

doesnt that contradict wut u said?

i agree with u tho, that there is an extent when criticism does turn into bashing.

I don't hate her. Like what people were saying she just wasn't coming out with great music, doesn't mean she won't in the near future. I love her doesnt mean I have to love every song she releases. I like it but it's not something I would listen to on an everyday basis. (evolution = mostly everyday, Startin' = once a week...)

I think Ayu is really improving in her career and I feel dissapointed because a lot of Ayu fans are losing faith in her.

What do you think?
Constructive criticism is just fine. Fans are under no obligation to like EVERYTHING and just because you are a fan does not mean you should follow blindly - everyone is going to make mistakes at some point, including Ayu.

I certainly don't mean any offense when I say this, but I've noticed that this is how you've been almost anytime Ayu releases anything new over the last 2 years. But then usually in a few months you decide you like it. So now whenever I read your opinion about a new release and you say you don't like it, I go, "Oh, it's just BanFan he'll like it in a few months." hehehe . Once again, I'm not meaning this in a bad way, it's just an observation I've made.

Just because people criticise Ayumi does not in anyway say that they are not supportive of her. If I'm in my right mind, I would think that anyone who can find anything to criticize are MORE supportive of her than someone who just says, "Oh I love everything she produces." If you can find her flaws, then you are a true fan..otherwise you're like a blind monkey. As a fan, you want her to improve, not just have her try styles and say that you love all her songs no matter what she does. In my opinion, the kind of fan who does the latter, is not there to help her improve, but to blow her head up.

Um, I'm sure there are a lot of people who like Bold & Delicious. I personally didn't like it because well, I just thought the song was annoying. I don't believe that you can honestly say you've loved every single song she has ever produced. I mean, just because many people "condemn" bold and delicious..well, that's just popular opinion. Besides, it's one song. One song out of how many? Yeah..
