No news on a new Tool album but Maynard is working on the next A Perfect Circle album. Also Paz (bass player) has left APC to join Zwan (Billy Corgan's (formerly of The Smashing Pumpkins) new band). She has been replaced by Twiggy Ramirez, the former bass player for Marilyn Manson.

Also Maynard is finishing up another side project known as Tapeworm. He is working with Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails fame on it.

Danny Carey (Tool's drummer) is working on a side project with Les Claypool (bass player/singer for Primus) and Adrian Belew (guitarist/vocalist for King Crimson). I am eagerly anticipating this one.

You're not alone on that one. I don't know why, I just can't get into her music. I guess it is just way too R&B-ish for me. Not really a style I like. But I do like BOA, the band the did "Duvet" the theme for Serial Experiments Lain.
