it sounds really bad....
i couldn't hear their singing AT ALL and they weren't in sync at some parts
and at the end the music started speeding up...weird
but it was definitely a ripoff of vanilla...

I don't know much about Gackt or Typhoon, although everyone has at least heard of "Vanilla". However, one thing to take in to consideration is that Taiwanese copyright law may be very, very different from the law practiced in the United States, where copyright infringement is a very serious offense. Although we may be outraged to see our favorite singers ripped off, I am sure there is some kind of loop-hole in Taiwanese law that "permits" the copying of international (i.e. "non-Taiwanese") works. Stuff like this just seems to happen too often with Taiwanese artists.

Well, the difference this time is, the previous two examples can be more of a "inspiration" (for example, there's no copyright saying that there can't be a three person band with a female singer and as far as I know, FIR hadn't sung any DAI or ELT songs yet) and Jolin Tsai's songs that have the melody of Jpop songs were all taken with permission. This time not only did the band copy, it claimed the song as theirs.

But ya know, they could at least try to change the arrangement and not make it so obvious...

*cough* I had to stand up for FIR. They DID NOT COPY others, i had listen to every their single songs, there's not even a single tune that sounds alike to others songs. ALL their songs are their masterpiece and they are good musicians. the only thing is that they happen to have a female lead singer, a keyboardl player, and another member who plays the guitar. The member who plays the keyboard is a highly respected musician in Taiwan, he had been in the show bussiness for a long long time, therefore he will not not stoop so low.

As for Typhoon, i had know the lead singer, Toro for 3 years. He's not a liar, there are be reasons behind this. Please read the following before you guys scold the wrong person....
first of all, Toro wanted this album to be his creation, but Jungiery is forcing ideas into him, tracks that he wrote are changed(or the company so-called amend). And they did not use all Toro's songs, the company is forcing other songs into Typhoon's album, they claimed it as 'market reason', the company believe that those songs will be easier to sell and more to attract the consumers. this is a reason why i did not like jungiery, they always force their artist to do what they believe best. I really pity Typhoon, their album is not selling well at all. i did not even buy their album, i'm protesting. Damm Jungiery, they are interving too much

Didn't Gackt also copy music? Some song from the Josie and the Pussycats movie? This and the fact that he had the audacity to copy music from from a cheesy, fictional, girly pop-rock group keeps me from feeling sorry for him. It's actually quite funny ^_^! It's called karma, Gakuto...

I shouldn't be so hard on him.

About the petition, you should really just give it up. It's not going to help anyone get sued. Gackt and his management/record company have more than likely already seen the music video.

And everyone PLEASE read what evolusean wrote post #23.

Typhoon - 狂愛戰隊
That first link is NOT the original song that Typhoon is singing, someone just put "Vanilla"'s instrumental over it. This is the song they're singing.
They have a "Breakdown" part which is Gackt did not have.

Okay, I don't want anyone to get mad at me, don't get me wrong, but I love Gackt's music. I'm just stating my opinion.

Can i just say i find it quite funny how the person who uploaded the vid to youtube is complaining about copyright/plagerism whenthey themself are breaking copyright by uploading the video to youtube o.O I'd also agree the songs are very similar, but ripped off? i wouldn't go that far, though i'd settle for possibly sampling Vanilla.

LOL, that's true. And YouTube even writes on the "Upload" section that if you upload it is clearly belonging to you.

They just put the instrumental so that everyone would sign that petition.

And, I can't read chinese that well anymore, so if anyone could read the part in the starting where it says "Toro" and "VJ-James" that would probobly clear somethings up.

^Toro wrote the lyrics and song, according to the pv
and the pv is shot by VJ-James.

but according to taiwan soucres(like i had said in my earlier post), that's a high chance that this song is being amended by Toro's company, Jungiery. Toro had many rows with his boss, Sun De Rong over this albums. I think Toro might had hit Sun's nerve, coz Sun De had froze Toro's job. I had not seen him on tv or the news from at least 2 months....
