CREA = LOVE

Yes, arrangement matters, but I think the melody really matters too. Arrangement is important, but melody sometimes can be more important and it really comes down to the melody. Sure, I think better arrangement made GEO's original songs sound better, but no arrangment can really make bad melody go good. CREA's songs are good, because they sound good no matter what arrangement.

The songs, maybe due to her lack of musical training, doesn't really follow a standard like other composers. It's actually nice, since it gives her compositions a somewhat unique feel.

Honestly, I never really paid that much attention to composers/arrangers, except the fact I noticed many of her songs were done by H/\L. I know she composed M - by recording the melody as 'lalala' on a tape - but that's practically all my knowledge...

For someone who has no musical education, it's quite an accomplishment. Composing isn't easy even for people with musical education.

I really like CREA, but I definitly think Ayu herself isn't her best composer. Personally, I think the majority of her compositions are either hit or miss; when they're good there is something so unique and almost magical about CREA's melodies and when they aren't so hot they can be awkward and at times grating. As well, I feel similarly about DAI's compositions. When at his best, his songs flow better than anything out there and have infectiously catchy melodies. However, when his work is sub-par, his compositions just sound like a series of randomly flucuating notes. I will say though, when CREA and DAI compose together, they always create incredible compositions. In short, I have a love-hate relationship with CREA and DAI individually, but together then are unstoppable.

WONDERLAND counts just fine, I hum that all the time.

I find I like CREA compositions just fine, usually more than anything else on the album.

Am I the only one that thinks that a composition is more important in a song that it's arrangements? I mean; the composition is the song itself. It's the melody, the rhytmn, the midi, the ringtone, the thing you keep humming and the lines the artist sings.

I think that both of them are equally important. When I first heard the ring tone for INSPIRE, I really liked the melody. However, when I heard the entire song I wasn't as happy about it. I think arrangements are crucial with a song.. a song with poor arrangement may sound too repetitive or won't flow together well.

i LOVE cREA. the music is very unique. not like something you might have heard before. ayu is good in that way, take her 'Will' as an example. it might not be as good as her earlier works, but you got to admit that it's different and something fresh! i like ayu for being able to do that.

CREA is alright. I think most of the CREA songs are extremely overrated. There are two CREA songs that I really REALLY like though, and those are 'winding road' and 'Humming 7/4'.

Sadly, most people dont like those songs : ( Everyone's busy worshiping "I am...", which is my least favorite ayu album.

CREA's okay. I don't see what's so absolutely amazing about her compositions. She's had wonderful songs that weren't composed by her.

it's okay, i love the fact that she did make those compositions, cause not many artists do that, but i mean, i don't lke songs just cause it was CREA. I am... wasn't my fave album, it's an okay album, i personally like Duty much more, and Memorial Address more too. I do like some of her compositions from other albums, like Will from (M)U. i think that CREA songs are pretty overated most of the time as well.

Winter Whispers

For all the words unspoken
I keep to myself because I’m selfish
I don’t speak to you because I think you’re selfish
Can’t there be an easier way?

My mind trespasses a vacant heart
But it soon learns of the orphan of secrets
Held inside
Why can’t I just foster my emotions
Like you had
Like all of you had?

In the stormy season
We often admire the rain
Why is it so admirable?
What’s so blissful about crying skies?
Nothing’s blissful about running mascaras
And gasping orbs of emotion
Smeared liner of depression
Drenched cheeks with forged smiles

The colder it is
The warmer we truly feel, right?
So can’t you just accept the secrets
And put away the selfish mindset
Because I can’t do the same thing.
