re-arrange BLUE BIRD and Beautiful Fighters. Those two are her weakest songs IMO. Especially Beautiful Fighters. Ayu make it a rock song!!

However, I think that Beautiful Fighters album version, like alterna, will minimize on the electronic voice..

I think real instruments would be slightly out of place with the "feel" of the songs..

I don't know that there is any 'feel' for them - or at least I don't get it. My suggestion is to make the individual instruments stand out more by not synthesising everything to death - just bring out the natural sound of the instruments more, without so much synth it would definitely improve them. To me, the sound of instruments bring out the emotions more in a song - covering them up with synth takes away all emotion. Some of the songs aren't bad in composition, it's just the synth that makes them sound so bland.

I do feel something in the 2006 songs. While there are lots of synths, the real instruments are somewhat 'hidden' within. I guess you need to listen closely to hear the Gen Ittetsu Strings in BLUE BIRD. The Domoto Kyoudai version of BLUE BIRD uses all real instruments + keyboards.. so perhaps you could listen to that and see if that's slightly more emotional than the CD version? She does use instruments in these songs, but I guess you could say that they are overshadowed by a lot of synthetic sounds.. but is that really different from most Ayu songs of these nature? ANGEL'S SONG for instance I remember people not liking it because it was too synth or something..

I imagine that with her pop songs, Ayu desires a very 'energetic' sound that can't be created with real instruments (closes example that kinda has acoustic guitar is July 1st but during the chorus, synths get mixed in..) but with her deeper, rocker songs or the ballads.. there are almost always going to be some form of real instruments

I don't really have a preference for either.. as long as the song sounds nice to me <3

I can hear that there are real instruments used in the songs, it's just that the synth covers all that and however much I strain, all the instruments are hard to hear and it's hard to make out the composition with all that synth. I don't mind the use of synth, but I prefer a good balance, so that neither covers over the other. I'm not saying take synth away completely, just not use it that much. Ayu has produced pop songs before that were a good balance, now almost every pop song she produces is just synth, synth, synth and not much else. A change would be good, just make a pop song with a better balance between instruments and synth. It's possible to make a song using both, some good songs have been made that way. What I would like to hear is these songs remade in that way. Songs like Startin' I liked the composition, but the awful snyth sound made it difficult to listen to and made it very bland.

I want to say that Ayu might not have any involvement in whether or not synths are used at all [since that is the arranger / composer's decision].. but I don't know really.

It would seem evident that when Ayu composes, that's when there is not as much 'synth' to the arrangement [i.e July 1st, evolution..]

I'm not sure about that either, who's responsible for all the synth, so I wasn't sure how to say it, so I just put 'Ayu has produced' meaning released I was wondering how much say she has since the whole Matsuura/Avex incident, didn't he say a lot of choices were made by her?

Beautiful Fighters, that should be completly rearranged, from funpark/circus-pop into something at least as harsh as soft-rock. Ladies Night ~another night~ is obviously a good example of how it should be done.

And most of all, they should redo the Promotional Videos, becouse most of the four 2006 ones are DISASTERS.

I am pretty sure the are not avex employees, but instead they are comissioned to make the PVs. Not very much to fire there. If thye'd be employees, though, I wouldn't mind seeing that happen.

"Beautiful Fighter" could use less of the synthesized voice. Maybe just for the beginning and the end. But not through the whole song!!! I hear instrumental in this song. If only they were louder. The drums would be awesome.

"Born to be..." is just not a song I like. I don't know how I would change it...

"BLUE BIRD" is kinda plain to me. Though I like the instrumental in the beginning, the chrous isn't superb. I think the chorus is too "loud" compared to the rest. It could have been better with a cuter melody. Like the melody in the start of the song and the melody after the 2nd chorus.

"Startin'" could be better with more drums and guitar. Perharps a rock version?
