I never got disapointed, not when she gives up singing.
Lah~ I lov ehre music, her music is really timeless, when it's enough for a song, I got plenty to edit my new playlist.
And that keeps Ayu online all year

the only one song that i was so dissappointed is B&D. i loathe the chorus, i don't know ayu can write such tackless lyrics. but i had no problem with her changes, she will be boring if she remains the same.
but i will still be with her, her songs had help me a lot. i don't see how i will ditch ayu. her lyrics had gave me strength and comfort me times and times.

I love Ayu's new music and I love Ayu's old music. Yes I happen to be on of those fans that dwell on the past, and love her older music a lot more, but I refuse to bash anything I dislike. I will openely voice my opinion on her releases and choices, but I certainly have no right to be rude and critisise. After all, I know I couldn't do what she's achieved in 9 years. I think she's worked damn hard to where she's finally placed herself, and I really admire her.

I really hate people that constantly have to be rude about her, especially when they complain about almost every magazine shoot. I'd like to see them get out there and take beautiful shots every single time.

Well we got to keep discussion going don't we? We can't just talk about how great she is all the time. (even though she is ) XD But yeah, I guess we do compare her new music with everything in "I am..." too much. :/

Best thread Ever. I'm sick of the constant whining by Ayu-fans when I usually come here to relax.

Why do these threads always arise, and then everyone agrees with the thread creator, and this STILL HAPPENS?

Honestly, I still think Ayu should be making the best music possible, and I don't care if people think that's 'bad' or 'wrong'.

in my opinion Ayu still releases music as good as she use to but i think every now and then a few songs in her album might not meet people's tastes, like me at times, i do get disappointed (bold & delicious) ...but ofcourse i get over it and will ALWAYS look forward to Ayu's next releases

i don't think i'm a whiner, disappointment in some of her songs is nothing, i will wait "impatiently" for her next releases

i'm even listening to her new and old songs now... Ayu's the best IMO

I think people only complain that much because they care about her music. I too have "complained" about some ayu releases (mainly B&D lol) , but it's just because I expected more and I want her to be as good as possible. So there's a positive twist to all this complaining , it's not just about dissing her & her latest music.

I myself like pretty much all of ayu's albums , but every album has it's ups & downs for me. some have more than the others.

For me, the most concise way to put it is this: it doesn’t matter if Ayu remains relevant to you, because her music is timeless. Not only has she been hugely prolific, but she’s been pumping out countless great releases of a consistently high-quality. If you think that’s debatable, it’s most likely due to the fact that as fans we are unappreciative brats who have become ungrateful because Ayu has been spoiling us all these years.

For real.
I don't see too much whining

There does seem to be a lot of bashing of other artists though, which gets old pretty fast.

People are like sheep, that's why there's so much complaining. And that's why koda gained so many foreign fans right after Secret / second session. Huge sales attract fans simply because they are notable. THat's also why ayu / Utada have been the main attraction of Jpop ever since 2001. It doesen't explain all of ayu's popularity, but I think it explains why many are obsessed with her sales and why some artists suddenly seem to gain a lot of fans.

I never really was the type of person to really avidly purchase every new release, at least until I discovered Ayu in 1999 (god, I was only 16...). She's not perfect, but she does keep her nose cleaner than many celebs, and I do think that's admirable. Part of the reason I was attracted to her. She's classy, not ****ty, an alcoholic, or a drug-addict (like many NA bands either are or promote), but the thing that made the biggest impression on me were her lyrics. They are genuine and from the heart. Many "artists" are merely voices and bodies. Very few write their own lyrics anymore.
All in all, Ayu's not perfect, but she is who she is. I like her for the music she makes and that's all that matters to me!

Peger, some of us have been here for quite some time..

And the annoying naggy whiners are like.. ugggh, always there for each release. Why can't you just NOT say anything?!

It still happens because the people who do complain don't bother to post in here because they obviously don't agree with the poster's ideas :|

I think Ayu fans need to realize that they are some of the most spoiled fans in the world. We get new material from her ALL THE TIME. If she releases something you don't like, it's not like you'll have to wait long for her to release something else.

However, I want to hear people's honest reactions. I'm not interested in people just saying "it's good, it's good" over and over if that's not how they feel. I like to get a sense of what other people like and don't like. Even if I disagree with someone's criticism, I want to hear it...that's the main reason I come to this forum. To get a sense of how other Ayu fans are interacting with Ayu's work.
