"So I'll be with you"
All this time I thought it was "So I believe you." Whoops. ![]() I like them. Cute, summery, but they're not exactly "unique." I mean, it sounds too much like fairyland (and a bit of July 1st) if you ask me. But she's come out with so many summer songs, she's bound to repeat something, so I'm not entirely disappointed.

^At first I also heard "So I believe you". But "So I'll be with you" makes more sense with the Japanese lyrics. [edit:] Actually both versions would make sense in a way...
Didn't you post it in the thread with the translation done by Rody!?

I wonder if Ayu overcame herself in a way while writing these lyrics. She's said time and time again that she would like to stay a child and not grow up.. but she says here that "Unfortunately. I have." But she also states that her energy won't go down and she'll keep the "acceleration" going.
The next verses go on to talk about "What's the difference between being grown up and not?" and she says that adults in a way are not able to cry in sad times. But the support of a loved one will aid someone through these times, so instead of crying there is comfort.. or w/e. I still kinda don't get the end though where she says "I think I know why you're smiling / saying what you are." Uemarasan, some help?

^Maybe I can help a little? ^^a
This part of "glitter" Kimi no egao no wake Kimi no sono kotoba no imi mo Nee chanto wakatte iru tsumori da kara kinda relates to this part of "until that Day...": Nee kono egao no wake Nee kono kotoba no imi Tsutawatteru wakenai Datte tsutaetai to mo Omowanai kara Shikata no nai koto Sou anata ijou ni wa daremo Shiranai Hountou no Atashi wo The later one I think is about people who think they know ayu - her fans, journalists, colleagues etc. Like we see ayu smile and think "Oh, she's happy~!". At the end of the chorus she says though that only "you" knows the real ayu. Like that "you" knows when her smile is for the public (photoshots, TV appearances) and when it's really out of happiness. Therefore "egao no wake" - "the reason behind a smile". In "glitter" she says something similar the other way around. That ayu thinks that she knows/understands the real "you".

"We will shine more brightly this summer
Just making the most of the present" That alone makes my summer feel a bit better. Considering how much is going on, Ayumi's songs always seem to make the rough times work out in their own way.

According to the original lyrics, I changed these parts and editted my first post.
Otona ni natta --> Otona ni natta? I've become an adult --> Have you become an adult? Wo wo wo --> Wow wow wow |
