Do they have 46 or 48 members?

Cus I read in the first post, it's 46, but then their group name has the number 48 in it, so I wasn't sure.

AKB48 used to be kinda cool. I liked their first few singles like "Keibetsu Shite Ita Aijou" and "Seifuku ga Jama wo Suru" plus some b-sides but they have gone way downhill since with their mostly cutesy songs. Except "Romance, Irane!" which isn't that bad. I'm not too fond with their album tracks either.

No, they aren't 48 members... Yet. LOL.
And they are not part of Hello! Project either.

^Actually their stage songs are a lot better than the singles they release. Songs like Keibetsu and Seifuku are always present, with the disturbing lyrics and all. I suppose it is because they have to perform their stages everyday, so that people don't get boring, but it is. First time I heard their albums I found them boring, too, but they started growing on me when I knew the members and knew who was singing what.

The stage albums released are 3 years old, though. They had a problem with their former record company and are unable to release the stage songs that came after that, which IMO are the good ones. Things like Team A 4th stage, Team B 3rd stage, Team K 4th stage and also Himawarigumi 2nd stage, those are the amazingly good songs.

Also, in their stage concerts (which you can download at Hello Online), there are songs performed by small groups, from 6 to 2 girls, so that we can know them and actually hear them sing XD. Some girls even manage to get solos.

Injured Mika Saeki to leave AKB48
Mika Saeki (19), a member of AKB48's Team B, is graduating from the group next month. The news came during a performance on Tuesday night at their Akihabara theater, followed by a comment posted on their official blog.

In January, Saeki took a break from AKB48 due to a leg injury that required half a year of treatment. That time has now passed, but due to poor health the treatment did not go smoothly. Thinking about her future, she decided to formally graduate in order to focus on her recovery, so that she can return to show business sooner.

Saeki joined AKB48 as a kenkyuusei in May 2007, then debuted two months later along with Reina Fujie (15). Saeki's final concert with AKB48 will be the one at Nippon Budokan on August 23. The show will include a graduation "ceremony" for both Saeki and Risa Naruse (15), who left Team K in May due to a herniated disc.

ooh pv preview is out ! yeah im loving akb48 now, they start off as a hello morning replacement when morning musume ended the show. AKBINGO kicked off the akb love for me.

i was suprised that iiwake maybe made #2 actually.

first song i liked was oogore diamond then every song after that, can anyone reccomend any other songs prior to this ?

It was quite tricky to dig up. Found it by using tag search on "idol".

I believe that, one of the main reasons why "Sakura no Shiori" is doing this well is because it is bundled with four PVs and a bonus movie.
