and yeah, its obvious that tarja will be compared to Nightwish. I hope people are able to see past that though! (i'm sure i will after a few listens!)

You obviously don't know the whole story about why Tarja was kicked out. Tuomas may be a mastermind when it comes to music, but he is the biggest @$$hole out there.

Anyways, the album is....different. You expect to hear Nightwish, but it's not. It's mainly like listening to a symphony with lyrics. It's mediocre at best. There's some really good tracks like "My Little Phoenix" but most of it is ballad based and I dislike ballads.....

I've liked Nightwish for several years and because of that I chose to give DDP a chance cuz you never know... But I was disappointed. Dont get me wrong, the album's ok but it just isn't the Nigthwish I like. Anette's voice isn't anything mind blowing and Tuomas has said that he maid the songs for Tarja's voice (not for Tarja, but to someone with a similar voice) and you can clearly see that when Anette just has to shout because she can't hit the notes. Strong singing isn't shouting and her shouting doesn't even sound aggressive like Marco's.. It sounds sad. I don't even get started with her "style" cuz that's as fake as it can get. That's sad becuz she seems like a nice person.

My favs from DDP: Eva, BBB, 7 Days to the Wolves, Master Passion Greed and my über-fav While Your Lips Are Still Red.

I absolutely hate For The Heart I once had (So pop-ish), Whoever Brings the Night (so lame, an absolute filler song) and Meadows Of Heaven (the chorus is just TERRIBLE)

I don't mind their new album. I preffer their old stuff with the previous opera singer. Love 'em though.

Went to the Nightwish concert last night, and man was it awesome! they played all my favourite songs!

I personally liked the way Annette sung the tarja-era songs, and it was great to see all the band members all hugging her and having a good time. Annette's Ever Dream was gorgeous! she puts such emotion into her voice, especially in the end part of TPATP *sigh*

such a fun experience!

I LOVE NIGHTWISH!!

My favorite band.. I am very big into the symphonic metal genre. I love the new album, I think Anette is a great singer.

My friend lent me their new albums so I've been listening to it a bit. I think I prefer Anette as the singer and I liked how this album had some folk elements to it. The Islander <333

Nightwish just won some Emmas (Finnish music award): band of the year, metal album of the year, album of the year, biggest-selling album of the year.

The Bye Bye Beautiful single just came out not that long ago. Haven't heard the whole thing (very hard to find!) but I have the the demo of TPATP where it's just Marco singing.. and it's not bad! Not to me, at least, but my boyfriend hated it. XD

Do you guys like Marco's versions of the songs by himself? (Amaranth and TPATP)

i have a very strange liking for marco and his voice... so yes i like his versions (reach and eva), although i wish he wouldn't try to reach those high notes in eva - i feel like clapping my hand over his mouth!

THe Rasmus is my favorite band so I'm excited.

@ Dustie -- i looooved annette's voice when she sang Ever Dream at the Sydney concert. Some may not have liked it, but i thought it was so emotion filled.
