Well, Ayu's eyes are big, but they're not that big without all the added on makeup and stuff. And plus there's that bump on her nose.

I think if she had surgery, it would have to be the pre-A Best era, but it just makes me wonder when would she do it because she seems pretty busy then.

And I'm pretty sure something happened to Hikki.

I mean if you look at the period between her First Love era and Distance Era, she looked...I don't want to say prettier...but there's a notable change. Her eyes were definitely bigger. I don't want to say plastic surgery because I don't really know the details, but I think EMI finally decided to pitch in and got her a better stylist.

Or maybe she just grew up and grew well.

many plastic surgery ads show faces of women who haven't necessarily gone through surgery. Their intention is not necessarily to show how a girl looks after plastic surgery, but to attract girls to do plastic surgery in order for them to look as pretty as the girls in the ads.

I guess so, in a way....She fixed her teeth, but it wasn't with braces. In the end, probably simillar results, though she definitely must have spent a lot more for that (I'm not a dentist, though, so i can't really say much).

i love her nose. it's like... so delicate and perfect imo. but when she smiles... yeah, it looks kinda like a witch nose.

on other features, i guess its the makeup. her eyelids don't look as dramatic and deep as it was a few years ago (voyage era), and the bags under her eyes have somehow lifted. :S
but also i think she had MINOR lift to her eyelids, after all, the folds are more defined and higher than in her acting years.

well i don't think she has gone under the knife. i don't really care about her teeth haha. but if you are pretty in this industry you are very likely to be questioned about your looks, and it's just sad!

And even if she has done something, where would she get the time to do that?! That woman is working her ass of, and you all know how busy she is, so where would she get the time for the operation and for the healing process. During spring and fall+winter she is practicing for the tour, doing the tour promotion for singles and other stuff. During the summer she is working with her songs, does some photoshoots, new ''summer song'', shooting a video for the song, A-nation and resting. TIME is what it's called!

Some people don't seem to believe that people's faces can change over time. And I really don't even see anything different from her younger days compared to now, just that she's gotten older and had her teeth fixed. ...and the massive amounts of make-up...

Good lord, THE EYEBROWS. Glad she did something about those.

I'm almost certain Utada has had a bit of work done on her eyes, and given her release schedule, she'd definitely have time for surgery. It's possible that her pre-fame pictures were particularly bad/low-quality photos, as her double eyelids aren't as defined as Ayumi's, but then again, surgery for artists is nothing new. In Utada's case, it's not as if consumers purchase her music for her looks, so it's not a big deal.

A bigger deal is whether Ayumi has had work done, since one of her strengths is her looks. Given that she works 24/7, it's not unusual for her skin to age faster than normal. If it can happen to newly-patented doctors in their late twenties, it can happen to Ayumi. I figure if she has time to take care of her 8978412 dogs and hang out with her former boyfriends, she has time for a little surgery.

Ayumi now without makeup resembles an older, thinner version of herself ten years ago. That itself limits what kind of surgery she could have had, but it doesn't rule out surgery either. The woman still looks good, which I think everyone agrees on.

(On a side note, in my previous post, the artist I mentioned with possibly a "teensy bit of work done" is Ayumi, not Utada. Just to clear that up. )

ayu NEVER wore braces. Read the things straight LOL Have you ever seem any pictures of ayu wearing braces? NO! And once a person put braces they have to have it for at least a year (asnd they can't remove them to appear in public, you've wore them and should know better ahahh) in order to have the teeth fixed (in ayu's case, considering how her teeth were quite crookedd, I'd risk at least 2 years she should be wearing those ). But we've never seem her wearing one, so she got her teeth fixed in another way: veneers or other faster procedures to fix the teeth.


Also, since when does a person doing a surgical procedure makes them "fake"? that's absurd. The smile is an important social part for the human being. If their smile is ugly, if the teeth aren't at the proper position, they have every right to fix them, to look better and present them to ppl in a better way. That doesn't make anyone fake.

And not only having straighter teeth makes you look better, it's better for dental hygiene and stuff. At least that's what my orthodontists told me when I first got my braces and whined about it.

Ah, you have some good points here. I agree with everything and it changed my looks on some things as well. I used to think before that Ayu had underwent plastic surgery, but now I have second thoughts. But for sure I knew she had her teeth altered, and I thought her face got plastic surgery done to it, but your points kind of prove it never happened. Without make-up, she looks the same as before.

I also believe she didn't get her teeth fixed with braces because she has the money to do it faster and easier, but you know there are other kind of braces than just to ordinaire you keep 24/7. When I was in secondary school all my friends had braces but not everyone had to wear them all the time -couple of my friends had night-braces that had to be worn only in the night and their teeth are in top condition now. So in theory she could have worn night-braces but it's highly unlikely that someone with money to get veneers would actually choose to have braces, for what I've heard braces can be a pain in the butt sometimes.
