Thanks everyone for posting your responses in this thread. Like I said, I was using this thread to research for a little something I was working on . I was trying to find another file type extension besides mp4 that is universally compatible with all different kinds of portable devices. avc format is the one I use for my PSP videos. Its actually a variation of the mp4 format, so theres a possibility it can work with Ipods and possibility it can't.

.m4v is best for me... It saves lots of space and the quality is very good.

Though I'm not sure how to convert videos to that format so I mostly use .mp4
