what do you think about the release of 'A Complete'?

I think it's a good thing. The woman has loads of singles, and lots of them aren't easy to find. If you're a more recent fan, you don't have all those songs, and it's a REALLY good deal for that many discs and bonuses. Plus, it was totally expected. It's the typical thing to do on an important anniversary, a compilation. I expect one for 20, and possibly 15 (if she can go that long).

I think it's a dumb idea because it's not only rehashing everything that has already been rehashed 12 times, but it comes so soon after A BEST 2. And frankly, I like A BEST 2 better than this. At least that felt like the songs were picked for a reason--like there was some thought there. A COMPLETE is just a singles collection, and it doesn't even live up to its "complete" title.

The DVD is great, but it could have been it own independent release. I'd rather spend $50 on a DVD collection of unreleased performances.

The photobook is really cool, but that, too, could have been a fantastically interesting separate release. When's the last time Ayu released an official photobook? Instead it's added as a limited-edition bonus to get people to buy the damned thing its first week to get a sure-fire #1. That's a lame gimmick.

Altogether it feel slapdash and like Ayu and Avex are just going through the motions. What do you do your 10th year? You release a box set. Which would be fine for an artist who never does this sort of thing.

Sure, it's great for the small handful of people who (1) notice and (2) care about that sort of thing. But it's hardly enough to warrant a new compilation. I mean, it's not like the original mixes of the songs were poor quality in the first place. In other words, they won't be improved, because there's not much to improve upon. They'll just be slightly different. It's not like remastering the audio from some old 1940's vinyl.

I'm pretty much excited about because I don't own any of ayu's A BESTs, it is something to commemorate on her 10 years of great music, and I've never seen any a-nation footage of ayu so I'm glad to have pre-ordered it. and the covers are really nice too.

Personally its a free extra - There not advertising the remastering as the reason for this set, its just something they've done making the item more wantable - The DVD is the main reason for people wanting to buy this.

At first I thought the covers SUCKED. But after thinking how they're gold and all because it's a celebration of Ayu's 10th anniversary and Ayu's looking all happy and awesome, then I liked them more. But I still think they're rather just "OK" and one of her worst covers ever. (ESPECIALLY the CD version. She looks horrible STONED.)

I'm not interested in this release at all. The only thing I want is the 10th anniversary version of 'Who,' so I'm passing on getting this release, and saving my money to buy ASfXX or one of her older DVDs.

but most pple will buy it cos of the DVD and the photobook rite? It's still a good way to celebrate her 10th anniversary. The covers are also nice.. box set is tempting me somehow. hahaz.

I hope there's an unadvertised hidden track, either a. another re-recorded A Song for XX (I'd love that), or a new song. There won't be one, I'm pretty sure because seriously, it sounds too perfect to even be real =/... But it'd be an awesome idea.

I love the idea of a COMPLETE single collection being released, seeing as I don't own most of the singles myself, it's a great opportunity for me to own them now~ Plus all that unreleased concert footage will be awesome! Who really cares if A BEST 2 was released just last year? Most people will be buying for the DVD and photobook. I'm pre-ordering CD+DVD ASAP! ^^

As for actual content, I can't say it's very interesting for fans who already own all her studio albums. However, it LOOKS fantastic, especially in the pictures where it's all opened and the contents are spread around. I might have to get one when I have some money to spare, even though it's mainly the packaging, the TA Live DVD, and "Mirrorcle World" that interests me. I can't help thinking that this would have been 100% better if it were an actual singles box set, as in packing every single-released track, b-side, and remix as they were originally released in one big multi-disc set (each album could probably have its own disc to save space). That'd be appallingly expensive, though.

Oh, and just like everyone's been saying, this makes A BEST 2 completely useless. I'm really glad I didn't buy that.

for my case it's not really surprising since A COMPLETE's put out to celebrate her 10th anniversary in the business but like everyone else , I can't help but feel a bit cheated especially since A BEST 2 was put out last year so it's quite sudden

+ I'm not really that happy with the tracklist of A COMPLETE since there're a lot of fantastic A sides that're missing from the list like Pride (was excluded from A BEST 2 & then now AGAIN ?!)

but anyway what the heck , I'm still going to get A COMPLETE when the SG press's rolled out simply because I want to buy it due to the DVD as the contents of it's too tempting to pass over

& now that the covers are out for both the CD only & CD + DVD ones , guess it spurred me to get a copy of it

which leaves 1 thing , whether Warner SG will print the 3CDs + DVD alongside with the photobook or not ?

I think it's a nice release for her anniversary, due to the footage and the booklet but I don't think it will do so well sales-wise.

As a lot of singles are still missing from this collection, coupled with the release of AB2 last year....I agree, it does seem like a wasted opportunity. I'm still crossing my fingers that it will do well but I think it's probably too soon after AB2 to do so well...

Mind you, it seems more financially-accessible for poorer Ayu fans (like me! ) so we might be surprised. A Complete is certainly good value for money.

I'm very hyped and glad about it.

I'm glad she does special stuff like that for her 10th anniversary.
I own A BEST and A BEST 2 both but I still want to own A COMPLETE ~ALL SINGLES~.
Both for the CDs and specially for the DVD.
I also love the photobook's idea and I'm kind of glad it's not released separately since it would be one of the last things I get because I want CDs and DVDs first.
So I'm really happy about it. It's a very good release for a 10th anniversary year.
I also feel it's complete because it has all of the first & main a-sides of the singles (which are the more important one from the 2nd a-sides).
The covers are also excellent (well I get the 3CD+DVD one which is my favorite).
