First off, this video helped me like this song now, so this a point for Green that MW was unable to do for me. After the first two minutes of video I think this video fell apart the only thing that everyone understood is that Ayu was an entertainer. For about 2 minutes of the video I thought this video was about homosexuality (Kumi's Taboo playing in the back of my mind). This video just makes me sad because it was a repeat of MW, going to a foreign country to shoot a video for great songs and they feel short of delivering their message. It makes me mad that they spent so much money shooting this.
However, who knows maybe the video for "Days" is the continuation of Green. Besides all the constructive criticism, Ayumi looked gorgeous as always. |

I'm not too sure what to think of the pv. Ayu was very beautiful and some parts of it was amazing, like the dancing with the fans and the city view. But the video confused me as well. What's with Shuya and Gomi twirling?! I don't get it! It felt very choppy and kind of gave a 'that's it?' feeling at the end. I really hope that Ayu doesn't use the same director next time.

This PV would have been amazing with a better director, I love Ayu's dancers but I'm really starting to get sick of them
Ah well, better luck next time.

Can only agree and repeat what has already been said - get rid of Kazuyoshi NOW. It had all the elements, nicely filmed, great setting, huge budget and fails horribly on execution. Not as bad as MW, but I still HATE how he uses ayu PVs as freaking practice.
![]() Kazuyoshi either needs to leave or stay out of the editing room. Fails at the very beginning by showing the crane shot of Shanghai when the song hasn't even kicked in. How can you not show that shot when the song breaks, for God sake. |

I think they could have done more with the story, but as usual, with this director it's all glamour -_-;;; Ayu looked stunning, but that's about it xD; And since they decided to use Midoring as the "male role," it made me even MORE curious as to what the story was. I think this PV was definitely in need of a "glitter/fated" thing (because the story looks much more interesting). It seemed like they tried to cram so much into a little over 5 minutes of video. Ayu's dancing was pretty stiff D: But I guess she didn't have much time to practice? And the biggest thing that bothered me was that it was PAINFULLY obvious that the person who directed this was the same idiot who directed Mirrorcle World... his signature incompetence is all over this PV.... I pray they NEVER use him again... At the very least, he didn't butcher this PV TOO bad, but like someone said before, the best things about this PV (the atmosphere, set decoration, costumes etc.) had nothing to do with him anyway! It pretty much saved his ass as far as I'm concerned... It may not sound like it, but I actually did enjoy the PV xD;... could have been better, but considering the director, enjoyable. |

To me:
Ayu is a singer in China at the 30s... She goes to the theater where she performs (the male dancers are there wainting for the show time), Ayu is in stage performing and Midoring is at the audience, they look at eachother and they share a mutual feeling... To me, the final dance scene is ayu (in love with Midoring) dreaming after the show... Something like... they are in love but they can't be together... Hmmm.... And it looks like the dancers and Ayu performs not because they want, but against their will (like the birds in the cages) Very beautiful... a lesbian video without fetishism =) |

I like this pv more than MW...that's for sure...but something is missing. The costumes and the settings are beautiful, very detailed and everything. I guess its the storyline...like its not smooth. I don't understand why ayu was dancing with Midoring like all of the sudden on the stage.
MW and GREEN pvs really have the potential to be excellent pvs but they're ruined by the newbie director which I'm really hoping ayu will get a rid of. I seriously don't like this guy as both a photographer and director. I think the pvs would of turned out much better if it was by wataru. |

Ah, c'mon Ms. Hamasaki... I KNOW you can do sooo much better than that.
![]() Bleh. I don't really understand the plot. Her dancers just appear on and off... And... Ms. Hamasaki and the other lady start dancing?... And the white feathery costume too... Hmm. I must be really bad at symbolism and analysis. |

guys guys guys
imagine the Days pv: - it will start of will with ayu walking somewhere (verse+chorus) - ayu will see her boyfriend (verse+chorus) - ayu will cry and sit down (bridge and chorus) - ayu stops crying (chorus) - ayu walks away, down the street |

I am REALLY surprised that so few people got the point (or plot) of the PV. With Ayu & Midoring, Gomi and Shuya dancing, and the dancers looking depressed backstage stands in stark contrast with the bright and glamorous onstage performance etc. is it still not obvious that this PV is about homosexuality, or more generally, people repressing their true feelings?
Do you need thought bubbles coming out of Ayu's head to understand that the dance with Midoring is a dream sequence? I guess not many people appreciate subtlety around here...You probably like your "hidden" messages to be as clear as in the "Endless sorrow" or "alterna" PVs. |

I agree with jbrat2219....I don't like the incompleteness of the pv...and we all know that it could of been better if a different director directed this pv minus ishii. There were some scenes that I went like wow...coz of the costumes and the background scenes but that has nothing to do with the director.

Whilst I really liked Mirrorcle World, this was a complete mess.
Ayu's acting got worse. What happened to the Ayu from alterna and STEP you? |

I thought many of the same things as Connected. It seems that the dance scene with Midoring is a dream sequence or at least a fantasy. (Ayu in love with her? Then again, we're never explicitly told if Midoring is actually supposed to be male or is cross-dressing within the storyline, which could make or break the rest of the story. The only thing that makes me think the latter is the two male dancers in the back dancing together, which segways into Ayu's fantasy...like she saw two guys dancing and then imagined herself and Midoring instead.)
No matter what, it's definitely a PV for the books image wise. Although I would not miss this director, either. |

I liked the PV. It looked really artistic. I actually liked the ayu x Midoring(she looked very sexy) dance part. Aslo loved the fan dance. I thought it looked pretty good. The only bizarre thing were the frames being rushed when ayu was walking, and how people randomly kept bumping on her.
I personally can't see all the poor execution ppl are complaining about other than that problem I've pointed to be honest. It flowed well, and it felt complete imo.
