AHS Fan-Selected Best Album?

Okay~ Looks like we'll be including all original mix tracks-- including b-sides-- but not remixes, acoustic orchestra versions or anything of the sort.

I'll start organizing the nominations and try and get a thread up before the end of the weekend! ^_^ Any ideas or suggestions can be posted in this thread, or PMed to me!

I think it would be best if we could nominate more than one song... like 3-5? Since she has so many songs, and there might not be a LOT of people voting, it's possible you'd end up with like 30 songs all with two or three votes... If people can vote for more songs, it might be easier to get higher total votes for songs?

I do have one suggestion...

Perhaps- if it's not too much trouble - you could have different polls for different genres, just so there's definetely some variety? Or would that be too limiting?

It seems that this "genre splitting" is a pretty popular idea... I'm ready to set up the nominations, but before I do, I think we should get this cleared out of the way. XD

It's fine by me to actually execute it like that-- by having people nominate so many of each genre and then do different polls for each genre, but how and who is going to distinguish which song is which genre?

I might say that Memorial address is a rock song, and someone else might say it's a ballad.

Mmm that's the hardest part really.

Well, in this case..

1 - we can do only 1 CD, without genre (although it's more boring ó_ò)
2 - we can agree on the songs doubtful, like memorial addres, before do the CD's (but it's waste more time, 'cause there's a lot of songs in that situation! @_@)

so I really don't know o_ô

To vote on each song doubtful, maybe?

I'm against genre splitting since it'll make the selection less... realistic? Like if we have to have 3 rock songs, 3 ballads, etc., if more people like 4 rock songs and 2 ballads than 3 rock songs and 3 ballads, it won't be a "true" fan favorite selection because that one rock song that more people liked than a ballad would have to be replaced by a less favored ballad. For example:

You decide there are 3 rock songs and 3 ballads. Let's say that everyone votes and it comes up as:

Rock songs
talkin' 2 myself - 11 votes
alterna - 10 votes
decision - 9 votes
is this LOVE? - 8 votes

Ballads
Moments - 10 votes
CAROLS - 9 votes
HEAVEN - 7 votes
rainy day - 6 votes

Then, going with the proper genre splitting, you'd have to put talkin' 2 myself, alterna, decision, Moments, CAROLS, and HEAVEN on. BUT, more people actually favor is this LOVE? more than HEAVEN, but is this LOVE? would be put off just to have that 3rd ballad. That way, it really wouldn't be a real fan favorite selection, because a rock song might have more votes than a ballad, but not be included as a fan favorite.

Did that make sense? I'm not good at explaining things. :'(

Well, but the genre splitting could be done so that there is an album with each genre, so no songs would be put off for the sake of genre.

And with different albums, there will this like super Ayu collection or something!

^ But then like... most of her songs would end up getting picked. If you did like 14 for each genre, and say you did three genres (rock, pop, ballads) then you'd have like 42 songs ending up being selected... That's almost 1/3 songs I think. I guess that just seems too broad to really show which songs are fan favorites, but maybe that's just me..?

Edit: Or maybe you could do different CDs for each genre, and then like a general CD to mix them up?

Well, Ayu has probably a few hundred songs... so 40+ wouldn't hurt so much. Hahaa I get what you mean, because that's a very hardcore way of picking the favorites of the favorites!

She has fewer than 200, closer to like 120-150 I think.

Okay... I see everyone's points here, but I think we are still "undecided" about this genre splitting, so I'm gonna go ahead an make a new thread, with a poll, where people can vote on whether or not to do the genre splitting.

Also, having a separate thread, more people will notice the dilemma we have. Not everyone who comes to this thread is reading the whole thing. Most are just reading the first post and they agreeing/disagreeing with the idea presented!

I'll go put the poll up now and after edit the first post with the link!
