Anyone here that believes this is illegal (which is false) should also not support this site because the downloads section is also illegal (which is true).
IF this was plagarism, then every cover or fan-made remix is also plagarism/copyrighted (for profit or not). But this is not plagarism. You don't need permission. This "work of art" or whatever you want to call it (maybe it's just plain crap to you, everyone has their own tastes) is very TRANSFORMATIVE, meaning that it has changed far from it's orginal work. The lyrics are not the same, the language is not the same, the musical style and composition is not the same, there's a heavy beat not heard in the original, and even the instrumental itself has been modified. Moreover, it's not going to hurt in any way the original artist and company. In this particular case, giving credit is not necessary. Just because 2% of something is similar to another thing, does not make it unoriginal at all. People who do covers are the same, even if it is less transformative. Do people say "they're stealing"? No, even if they use the exact same instrumental, style and lyrics. Rather, it is widely accepted to do covers. However, in this case, giving credit is necessary. And if someone wants to sell a cover, that person needs permission as it can harm the original artist or company (usually in terms of sales/competition). Ex. Lovin' you doesn't remind me of End roll at all~ This song only samples a couple of notes XD no biggie (and it might just be a simple coincidence). As for the sweetbox album, the melodies weren't TAKEN, Geo got both the credits and the money for his compositions, there was nothing illegal about it as both sides were quite happy ^^
