I'd say I don't want her to go away, even though her sales keep going much worse than every previous release
we can say the same about Koda, if to judge it fairly

she and Ayu both have got everything they ever wanted in Japan and it seems like they just can't jump higher

I see no reason in Ayu's leaving, because if you look at Namie, for exmpl, she still exists, even though we shuld remember she has been on scene since omfg how long

I think that Namie is a good exmpl to follow concerning leaving or not

I just guess Ayu need a bit of renewal or refreshment, call it whatever you want

it's quite obvious she has chosed only one everlasting image since the release of Secret and the same can be reffered to her music style as well, I mean that heavy dark rock

with NL she seemed to take a bit of change in the music

I want a new release, if it will be good electro-pop than I should say she just MUSTN'T leave

I want her to have a new image, PV directors & maybe new pop composers, or get back to old good pop directors, but definately drop these of constant-all-the-same-rock, no offense

though, if she takes a brake I guess she will never come back, though
I see no point in it

I think Avex would have her release nothing for a whole year - no concerts, no singles, no albums, no performances whatsoever. All the has is the DejiDeji diary and then all of a sudden, July 1st 2010:

*New Album
*New Album ~Classical Version~
*2x singles (double A-side)
*New remix album

I think they'd try and explode her back onto the scene by building speculation on the album, then destroy all fan's wallets by having heaps of new material all at once (everything will undoubtedly have FP and a Lucky Draw to increase preorder sales! xDD)

If the point of the break is just to come back with completely different music style, then I don't want her to take a break since I happen to really like her rock songs (though I'm starting to digg NL more, and of course I love almost every song of hers ASFXX-GUILTY, no matter what the genre is), even though I'd really like if she did all different kinds of rock songs, since her songs apparently leave the impression of all rock sounding the same.

But I'd like her to take a break to lose the stress, get stronger, train her voice and really take her music to next level, and I don't mean "change of style" or anything but to really get some great inspiration.

but I will be the one who's nodding my head if she decides to take a break for... a month or two.. or maybe even 6 months or 1 year.. since she's been working so hard, non stop for what? 10 years? take a break, live the life for herself.. get a nice boyfriend/husband for herself maybe?

just like Stephanie Sun's case (Singaporean singer).. she took a 2 years break.. when she came back.. still good~~

from now till June is AT09, den August is A-nation, october tour again.

In between this period, i dont think there will be any singles released.

I'm not exactly sure what do you mean by saying he rock music sounds the same. Rule was a really hard rock song : and she has never done anything in that style... so... shrug

However, as you said, i don't want her to stop doing rock i love ayu's rock music and i also think she really needs to take a long break, though i'd miss her music so much

Since it's just a break, a 3A side single or mini-album will do...along with some sort of farewell concert full of awesome costumes and lighting. Also, an Ayumi Hamasaki-tribute album would be appropriate from Avex...

points of coming back might be rather different, but as a rule, when we say "come back", it means coming back refreshed and certainly with new image, to attract the attention again, that's how it usually looks
and surely it doesn't mean new music style, yet the image is always different when we say "comeback", no?

the lack of inspi can be referred to the lack of free time, stress, etc
but, guys, to be frank, wasn't the tension much more back in 2000-2001 for exmpl?

Oh, no, I didn't mean her rock songs sound the same. I said that apparently they sound same to many people, because I've seen lots of such comments over the last couple years. I don't think her rock songs sound the same though.

Personally I think it sounds really greedy to be expecting singles and mini albums and concerts if Ayu really does need a break. she has put out so much music since she debuted in 1998. She sort of hit the ground running hasn't stopped. If a good long break means she'll come back even greater, then I'm all for it.
