Cool poll.
Yes, as andre said, Hibari is basically a legend in Japan.I wish they would have specified what they exactly mean in the poll though. Like do they mean strictly music shows? Dramas? Variety programs? etc. Cause I'm really not sure why Exile would make the list other than that they are currently popular right now. |

^ Arashi though at least makes sense. Throughout their career they have been heavily involved with dramas, movies, variety shows etc etc - way more than most other people on the list except for SMAP. There really isn't any reason they shouldn't be on a "contribution to tv list." Exile though, doesn't really make any sense.

You're right, completely right. I've only known as Ayu coming on TV to perform music...but fangirls and fanboys will be like that, I guess.

This was some online Oricon Style subscriber poll conducted in less than a week, (1000 people, 4 age groups, divided into male/female with 125 per group) so I think it's to be expected that some names like EXILE/Namie/Ayu would be in there as well despite not appearing to have reason to... But then again, it looks like the singer category just counts TV performances, as the comments from people who chose Misora mostly involved when they'd seen her on TV...

![]() You are right though, I doubt it had any major influence on her position. |

I guess more than anything, this poll is just to show who really represents what has been going on in the last 57 years of television in the categories they've listed. I'm very surprised that Hikaru Genji aren't on the singers list though, weren't they pretty huge when they were on TV?

Congrats to everyone that were singled out
I especially agree with what was said about Downtown & Tamori . Downtown always never fails to bring in the laughters without going over the top on HEYx3
