Does 2017 mark basically the first time without some kind of physical Ayu release since... ever? AT2016 was December 2016 and then we have WORDS... but that is it. Even if they're doing A WINTER BEST, that would probably be fine for me.

The previous compilation had some interesting arrangements however nothing was really as awesome as My Story Classical and Winter Diary was probably the worst song she has ever recorded �� It depends what they do with it. Been listening to Secret (album) a lot lately, so kinda hoping for something like that with a lot of great versatile melodies.

What I don’t want is another best of album - 2017 was all about celebrating the old songs so I am hoping for an album and a tour to promote it.

Clearly she is going to keep new release for next year.

Pretty much but we have no indicator that she recorded anything other than WORDS so I'm scared.

The more time goes, the more I'm afraid of next release. Next year is ayu's 20th anniversary, so there is a high chance that she will release overexpensive boxes with bunch of stuff

I personally woud like an album to but I still preffer nothing over 'at least something' as long as it's not with new songs etc.. I really wouldn't see a need for another best (not this year, 20th is something different, I know) and I usually dont feel so hyped about such releases anyway. Honestly, something like a remix album would be much more interesting if there's the need to put out some "filler".

If another compilation album is coming for her 20th anniversary, I imagine that something like BEST + studio album is possible? Or she'll spread out the releases throughout the year.

I wish she had the energy to come up with a really exciting project for her 20th Anni and not just...slap on an A BEST 3 and be done with celebrations. To be frank, I really really dont know how her reputation is in Japan at this point and if anything, 2018 is already headlined by Namie's retirement.

Personally I just am a little shocked there's been 0 releases in 2017. Usually there's at least a DVD or some remix or a compilation after 19 years of almost always releasing something with regard to the music or tours.

^ Yeah, it's pretty inexplicable that the CDL or the Team Ayu tour hasn't been released at least. Only thing I can think of is massive boxset next year or a blitz of releases one right after the other.

The sad thing is, no one is going to care about her 20th anniversary with Namie retiring in September 2018 and going on one of the largest dome tours from Februrary to June.

Yea thats what Ive been thinking and this morning I saw Utada Hikaru announced new album and will start touring again in 2018 after 12 years. Everyone is plotting against Ayu’s 20th anniversarry??? LOOL too much overshadowing her that maybe Ayu’s 20th anniversarry is going to be underwhelming unless her staffs did a good job promoting , meh
