this is a cover of a Yumi Matsutoya song. she performed a (truly wonderful) orchestra version of this for a TV show in 2003.

This is the second cover of the Yumi Matsutoya's song since "卒業写真" was included in "A BALLADS" released on March 12, 2003.
It's a song that you should definitely listen to at this moment.

Really smart move imo. An iconic Japanese song the general public will be attracted to, and a gorgeous looking video to promote it. Also love song is a ballad too? Guess my concept of what a ballad is should be updated lol And Yay for that Secret performance

I posted a few pages back what defines a Ballad - where in general in music it is a slow, nostalgic song, a BALLAD is more defined by its structure (telling a stroy) which also makes songs like Last minute, Return Road, alterna and maybe even fairyland and Sweet Season ballads.

Oh my gosh! I absolutely love this! Haru yo, koi is one of my all time favourite J-Pop songs of all time and I still remember her performing it back then and now she finally gives us a recording. This is a great surprise! <3

That's lovely! For me it's totally new--I became an Ayu fan in 2006 when I saw her performing Bold and Delicious/Pride (Pride is actually still my favorite Ayu ballad) on TV, so I never got a chance to see the 2003 performance. Something new to look forward to. <3
