That's and the other gimmick are the main reason why we buy her recent stuff.

While ayu's I buy because her work is actually really good while kumi's was mainly dissapointing for me the whole year...

The singles have been decent. At first, I thought glitter was too safe, but all in all, it's a decent song. fated is great, and so is talkin' 2 myself/decision. Together when...is also a good piece. The album fillers better be good, too, or I'll be disappointed.

Same here. I mean BoA's sales aren't spectacular but they are decent but we have yet to see an album PV. Plus most DVD Versions from her albums are a pretty crappy deal, with the single pvs and one offshot clip.

There's probably not enough demand in the market for one. Either that, or avex believes that they can make more by releasing a more expensive set of PVs only with making of extras or something later on. :\

Nice, 2 more videos. Of course i can't wait Some people wonder why avex does not put much effort to her anniversary. Well I think it's all planned very well. Look, Her Tour of Secret will be released propably next year, then she will held her next tour and I think she will release it at the end of 2008, plus new singles, and album coming up soon. Thanks to that she will be number 1 for sure next year. That's how I see it: 2 tours released on DVD, first one in about february, next November/December, new album in January, and some new singles. Who knows maybe any remix album? But I predict her to be #1 next year.

Haiz...No need to set very very very high expectations and ask for perfection
Sales doesn't really matter (well...even for ayu it's 'a bit' problem), but don't judge too critical...look at 'K' , for example, he's really really talented and his albums are great, but still he got low sales...what about some singers who sings bad and the music sucks but still get high sales for whatever reasons???

ayu will always...and she's been always impressed us with so many new stuffs guys
she has tried her best to change her style everytime, she even 'break' the 'chain' (as she said) like she doesn't always has to release a ballad single in spring, a ballad again in fall/winter, etc...

I personally think 'glitter' is very very nice one, nicer than fairyland even BLUE BIRD, in fact I play a lot of times, but still have to admit it is fastly replaceable.

So my point is...No matter if KINGDOM more successful than ayu's new album, remember what ayu said "I can't be anybody else but me (and I dun want) because I'm not that person"

I kinda doubt Kingdom will be that successful. In fact, if avex is not worried about kuu's sales, I dun even think they will try to make her filming like 10 or 11 pvs at the end of the year. My bro even says if Kingdom's not getting over 500K on the first week, it can be considered a failure (which I agree).

well it's good hear that ayu's tryin' to break the chain... But at this moment I dun see she's tryin very hard LOL.. Fast summery song every single year, and there must be a ballad in fall/winter.

I agree with your brother ^^, tough Ku's peak ended with the release of BUT (which was the last good single she released, as I only liked "girls" and well Ai no Uta and LAST ANGEL are ok, but nothing spectacular about them).Still filming another 9 PVs can't be cheap, but I doubt they'll be any good, and I still prefer 2-3 hi-budget ones like AYU did for Secret the last year, than the more simple ones with dancing in different costumes (like most of AAA's PVs look). And I too, buy Ayu's cds cuz of the songs, so far I haven't been disappointed, and I can order it without even hearing the songs first, as I have faith she will not screw it up, while I can't say that for BoA anymore, sadly, her singles are GREAT but there were 2 many songs on MADE IN 20 which were just there to fill the space ^^, sure she had a few great ones such as STILL. and OUR LOVE, but not as many as VALENTI & L&H or even OUTGROW had.As for Ku I didn't like a single new Black Cherry song, and after all the great singles that year I expected TOO MUCH, but in the end it was just a regular Ku album with a couple of nice songs.Ayu on the other way doesn't make an album just for the sake of it, the quality of her album songs is the same/better as the single ones.

lol the sales of ayu's new album (in fact, any album) is not within our control unless one buys all the albums.. which is not possible.

hope ayu's non-single songs are good and have a 17 tracks album.. 3 interludes are enough..

I personally don't think Kingdom will sell extra well and better than Black Cherry, but it does have a concert and PVs for each songs. And Koda, even though she has past her peak, is still popular and I think the album will still sell well and probably better than Ayu's new album. Which sucks because I'm almost a 100% sure that Ayu's album will be much better while Koda's album will probably suck like her last 2 albums (Everything after "secret".) with tons of unoriginal album tracks (plus the singles were bad this year). I think avex spent a lot on the PVs for Koda but less on the songs quality.

I actually don't mind the fact that Ayu only has one extra album PV. I like the idea of every song for every PV, but only on mini-albums. On regular albums it's just overwhelming.

Avex's marketing is a big brain-poof to me. They seem to spend a lot on Kuu's PV, not on the actual music (and the single Always is a bad move), they seem to just give up on BoA (she might be past her LOVE&HONESTY and VALENTI years, but she's still a pretty decent-selling artist), and they seems to go into the 'we don't know how to promote you' for Ayu.

I hate marketing...

^Yeah, kumi should work more over her songs more than her PVs, 'cause if the song is bad, so is the PV I guess.

I love ayu's new album direction, her singles were good this year (glitter song a bit less but it's not bad).

Yeah I fully agree with Kikaru. 2007 has been a year of bad decisions for avex. BoA might not be a huge seller any longer but she's only 21. That's really young for an artist and she has the vocals and the dancing talents. They're truly wasting away a potential artist who could still regain back some of her sales with careful planning and promotion. I feel the same for Ai Otsuka. She had a lot of potential back in 2004-05 but seems her talents are now being wasted because of sloppy marketing schemes.

Also the fact that Ayumi's promotional campaigns are getting more and more dry is pretty sad in my opinion because she still has a decent fanbase and a pretty high potential to churn out hits. I hope this album will bee marketed more carefully this time or she'll end up selling less and less.
