Also, she is rumored to have filmed a promo video for the MTV VMA's, and is supposed to be performing at the event. Omg, hope it is true, can't wait for confirmation. It seems possible her single could drop a week after the VMA's.

Not true. There is no single release date yet.

Anyways, there is a long golden truck driving around LA with the words: Katy Perry - Prism - 10-22-13. Believe it or not, this is how the announcement was made. And this truck is going to different places. What a good promotional tool for her album.

The single release date Is Aug 12th, officially confirmed in a teaser vidéo, uploaded on Katy's vevo account on Youtube. I just saw it, there's no song snippet, but roar was put in a hashtag, #Roar.

Probably just a rumour but from what I've been reading online it would be release on the radio on the 9th to give it a head start then it would be released digitally on the 12th. Probably just a rumour.
