Hmm it doesn't look too dire or bleak for Ayu from this perspective. 2 albums in top 50 for 2012. Thanks for the info!

or the fact that she sold over 400K...
how many solo's can do that in today's state of album sales. |

^^ Namie did it with just one album.
I think Ayu needs to re-evaluate some things and come back strong. It is a shame, but she had a long run of success. She's still successful, but don't think she'll be doing huge numbers again. |

I'm surprised that Namie is out of the Top 10. '-'

So?
I didn't say anything about namie. I'm talking about Ayumi. |

You said "how many solo's can do that in today's state of album sales." Just pointing out that Namie did it with one album.
400k is a good number, but that would be a great number for one album. |

^ I wasn't saying that ayumi is the only one... but how many can say that.
2 female solos? it doesnt really matter HOW many releases you have, but the final number. |

It matters to avex. They have to produce only one generic Namie album with only 4 new tracks to make more money than they make from one Ayumi album, one Ayumi Best-of and two Ayumi EPs combined. Kinda sad really.

Costs a lot of money to produce, distribute, and market an album. I don't think Avex would be happy if she sold 40 albums that only sold 10k each.

^^ It was probably cheaper to make Ayumi's 4 albums this year then it was for namies one though... just look into what they have to do for each and stuff.
the fact is, avex wouldn't do it if they weren't making money off of ayumi's stuff. (i liked the idea of a summer best, but lets face it, it was useless) @elaniel and quite frankly, thats unrealistic Last edited by TeamAyu2004; 22nd December 2012 at 09:19 PM. |

- 4 different photoshots with hyped photographer. - 22 new songs, counting songwriting, producer, arrangment, recording, mixing and musicians, at least 14 done overseas. - 9 remixes with top DJ's. - 4 different CMs, including airing time on TV. - 4 different Print promotion, including hiring of the billboards/bus/trucks. - 10 different music videos, at least 3 recorded overseas. - Logistic of 13 different products (counting all versions of the albums). - All the discs, printing, cases, playbuttons and bonuses for each of 13 products (considering that the most copies you do, the less you pay, so, the most versions, the less copies you can do of everything). Namie's 2012 releases: - 2 photoshots with hyped photographer. - 7 new songs, counting songwriting, producer, arrangment, recording, mixing and musicians. - 3 remixes done by the album producers + 1 remix by top DJ. - 2 different CMs, including airing time on TV. - 2 different Print promotion, including hiring of the billboards/bus/trucks. - 7 different music videos, 1(?) recorded overseas. - Logistic of 6 different products (counting all versions of the albums). - All the discs, printing, cases, playbuttons and bonuses for each of 6 products (considering that the most copies you do, the less you pay, so, the most versions, the less copies you can do of everything). It's easy to see who spent the most money. |

^ your right. Namie sure did spend a lot this year.
glad you could clear that up. but unless you know how much money they actually spent that list is irreverent. |

Ayumi produced and released twice the material... What costs you more? Buying 1 apple or 2?

Namie song production:
- create a digital track and occasionally add some band instruments, pay 5 people Ayumi song production: - create songs almost fully acoustic and orchestrated, pay up to 100 people for every track(most of the time probably 20-30) Namie video production: - have Namie sing in front of a greenscreen with her dancers behind her Ayumi video production: - travel to another country, book a variety of sets and shoot in them using a mix of your own dancers and extras

........not much else to say lol I can't say I'm glad that PQ didn't reach 150k. I really like Ayu to do well, but I hope she can put the need to act out so OTT behind her and just focus on growing as a person and having her image reflect that. I want something cheerful, optimistic, sometimes thought prooking and most importantly, all current and former S.O.'s firmly out of the picture ![]() |
