I think you put it the other way around.. hehe... Seiko has the most consecutive no. 1 in female category (24 consecutive no. 1s)... ayu has 17 only so far. I think it will be very tough to beat 24 consecutive no. 1 in female. It'll be even harder to beat B'z 40 consecutive no. 1

No she doesn't, B'z has 40 #1 singles in-a-row as of October '07. Strangely, I'm not really that bothered anymore, #2 is still a great position! I think Ayu's singles have around the same sales as Koda Kumi's singles now. (Anything from 60k to about 100k), but obviously Ayu won't sell as much as Kuu would in the weeks after. Not that that's a bad thing.

yes, that's so true. Now I really hate avex released Daybreak... If not, then let's count... M, evolution, NEVER EVER, Endless sorrow, UNITE!, Dearest.. 6 consecutive no.1... Oh well, not enough to beat Seiko..

Oh well, it was gonna end eventually. Kinda funny that it happened because of some bootleg boyband on ~speacial 10th anniversary single~.

Oh! About her #1 singles, I know she had 29 of it.
If she get her #1 again, it will become 30! That's great, isn't? If we worry too much about her losing her all straight #1 singles, there is something much better: that is her 29 #1 singles. Think about it.

I think tokyoxjapanxfan is talking about female category... If she has 25 consecutive no.1, she would be the most consecutive no. 1 in female section.

Oh, my bad I thought Seiko had 26 in a row. Apparently it's 24 or 25 right? So, then Ayumi would hold the record indeed.

![]() They really want to keep ayu's singles #1! At this point it's 50/50. |

Beh I couldn't care less about the streak, it's Ayu! And I didn't start listening to her cuz she had a long streak of no1s. And even if she loses it, it wouldn't be the first time, plus currently there isn't a living female artist in Japan who can pull 29 no1s in a row, in other Ayu already wrote history and it will take decades before someone accomplishes the same.

But, i think we don't need to talk a lot about the record...coz, many artist espsecially woman cannot always get #1...Example is Utada and kuu..even both rarely reach #1 in single but both always doing well in sales and keep her career..i think if ayu lose her #1 streak it not means ayu sholud stop her career...
Many artist released single and just reached top 20 but they never stop produce music... |

Why are we discussing who's getting the most no#1 and consecutive no#1 streak?
We're here to discuss about Ayu's MW chart! It's doing great! About 110k 1st week I think. Or at least 100k! Ps: I think that Ayu will beat Seiko's no#1 streak..it's only 7 to 8 singles more! Cross your fingers guys! |
