ayumi hamasaki ARENA TOUR 2010 A ～Rock'n'Roll Circus～ title announced

I don't think the thing here is that she invented (sic!) the idea of circus, but the fact that she did it just a year after Brit and Kumi, as if she thought "oh it so cool, a pitty I didn't have done that, must include it in my next tour" or sth.

The thing is, it may have little in common with circus in the end anyway, actually this circus stuff may just mean a more funny or strange concept of rock and roll concert.

Unfortunately some people turn on their "bash mode" whenever they read the words Ayu and (...put any other celebrity name here) in one sentence.

Considering that Ayu is not like Spears nor Kumi and that they do different kinds of music, plus that Ayu doesn't consider Britney cool and that she is Ku's senior means that it has nothing to do with them, there are bigger chances she saw the Rolling Stones DVD or that she simply saw a Circus poster somewhere than her actually watching Britney's DVD as she actually listens to rock music as she has said ages ago. The annoying people who associate Britney with everything that has ever been done in pop music and who don't even bother using their brains are to blame that she was even mentioned on here.

And no you can't just put any celebrity there, I don't like Ayu being associated with Britney in any way as I consider Spears inferior to Ayu in every aspect, I don't mind her getting inspiration from the Rolling Stones though

I see ayu's stans showing more and more. Just because you don't like britney spears doesn't nullify the fact that she has an album called "Circus". It's like saying "I hate britney spears so that means ayu's "Startin'" video has nothing to do with brit's "Toxic" video."

The fact is, ayu has a new tour "and possibly a new album" with a circus theme and like the ones already listed, britney spears is indeed one of them and whether you like her or not that's tough ****, you have to get over that. Ayu is not the first person to come up with something circus/carnival related, nor will she be the last.

amorphose already said what I wanted to - no one is nullifying that Britney has an album called circus lol, but so does FictionJunction YUUKA and many others as it was already pointed out many many times. And the same way Britney wasn't the first nor the last nor the biggest act who has used the theme. I simply said that Ayu most likely doesn't care one bit about her.

^No one is trying to argue that Ayu came up with "Circus." Everyone on this forum knows she didn't come up with the theme. People are just annoyed (including myself) that many people are saying she must've copied or been inspired by Britney. She could've copied or been inspired by countless other people but people just want to throw Britney into everything pop music-related like njanjayrp said.

*gasp* Maybe Ayu decided to use this title and concept without being inspired by anyone? She could've just heard it and thought it was cool.

It doesn't matter regardless, but I fail to see the "ayu-stans" you're talking about. Again, no one said Ayu invented the concept. There are simply just a few of us highly irritated by those who insist the idea must have something to do with Britney just because she used the theme in the past.

Ayu's had creative control of her career since I am..., she took control after avex forced her to release A BEST, and they let her because instead of keeping her mouth shut like a normal artist, she publicly protested the release of A BEST, and designed the photoshoot(and the clip for NEVER EVER) to demonstrate this. She wouldn't have done the title if she didn't want it. If you read anything about her career that much becomes obvious.

exactly... LOL Ayu does everything.. and even if in the last few years she has found people, friends, and she trust in them to do things she did before, that doesn't mean she leave it... she's her own boss and nothing will be done if she doesn't like it!!

I always remember that sentence: I want to do all by myself because if something has a bad result I don't have to blame anyone but me.

Wow, wasn't expecting such a rude response. You've got to be sensible here. There are people in her marketing team who particularly focus on creative coordination, there are general producers and overall producers. I didn't say anything about Ayu taking the title if she didn't want it. All I inferred was that someone else may have had the idea for the title. Jesus.

The response you received from GRACE was quite defensive, more so than it should have been.

However, suggesting that staff might come up with ideas that Ayu might decide to use is different from saying that she probably didn't personally decide on the title.

Whether ayu decided on the title in the first place or not, in the end she has the final say imo. I remember I read somewhere that Max Matsuura said ayu is really the one who produced her work even though he gets credit for it...so it might be why her tours now is 'all produced by ayumi hamasaki'. I'm sure ayu still have orders to follow...like having to do a tour and produce an album each year, etc. but in terms of creative control, I think she has full control over it. For some stuff she probably lets her staff create it and she'll approve or make changes in the end.

I have to say, I kind of...laughed my ass off when I saw the title. It seems so gaudy...which must mean it'll be over-the-top.

I'm excited to see what she'll bring to the table.
