It was good but then I realized it was just kinda generic in a way. Though the extended remixes are definitely the highlight.

Considering how amazing "Pick Me Up" turned out, all I want to do with "toumei ningen" is Set It Down.

The instrumental is definitely too ambitious for what their vocals and weak melody is giving me here. They can't keep up. They weren't ready.

The instrumentation resembles many OWL CITY songs I've heard as well. Still a little bit better than what he typically comes up with though.

Starting off #3 on a week that is pretty competitive (with Hey!Say!JUMP - a Johnny's group - and INFINITE from Korea taking the top two) - and to be disrupted a bit by the Golden Week holidays. A bit disgusted two boybands are on top, but at least Perfume is the best among the female artists.

I just simply don't understand why Johnny's groups like to steal Perfume's chances of #1. Really? Do we need to talk about this again???

In fact, too many of our favorite artists don't get much chances when either Johnny's or AKB48 release something. Seriously. I'm just hoping this trend will stop! But it may be too late for Perfume though once that time comes.

I don't ever recall being as satisfied with a new Perfume single as RIC//PMU. All three songs clicked with me right away which never really happened before with their singles (I only started listening to them after JPN though). I like all three equally and it feels like there is something magical in them because they managed to make me feel really great after feeling completely down, lol. I feel like my mind is being controlled or smth.

The only song that satisfies me is the last one. If we're talking about being satisfied with ALL the songs, then we have to go back ALL the way to spice.

There is something in how Relax in the City sounds and flows that I find magical. It's like going to a place where everything is all right and you feel 100% at home. The piano only makes that magical feeling stronger. It's seriously like free(ish) therapy. I can see how some people could see this song as boring but once you listen to it with a right mindset it just clicks and is more than enjoyable.

Pick Me Up really continues that "wanting to get out of the world to a safe/fun place" for me. It kind of makes you BELIEVE everything will be okay if something just literally picks you up and brings you to an alternate universe. Although I'm probably looking into the songs too much / getting the wrong meanings out of them but whatever. I do that with all songs. Anyway, the song really is catchy and just sounds great to me in general. After more listens I think I like this one the best although I'm not sure. Again, yeah, it's nothing groundbreaking and it's quite repetitive so I can see why some might not be as captivated.

As for Toumei Ningen... it's the only song that actually sounds sad to me on the whole single. It's not in the same vein as the other songs on the single but it still fits the single well and follows the mentioned songs nicely. It's quite catchy but not as catchy as PMU. It's kind of like a crash to the reality after the A-sides.

So yeah... I don't know. I suspect I might have just listened to the single for the first time at the right time which is why it clicked so well with me.
