It may be hard to believe that Anna Tsuchiya is now attempting a new career as a director. Tsuchiya was at the opening of the “Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia 2009" to promote the festival. However, she also earned an award for her first short film titled “Fishbone”.

“Fishbone” is about a fish who attempts to free his friend from captivity. Although she won the award, Tsuchiya admits it’s not easy to be a director alone and requires a team effort. A noble thing to say.

Genki Sudo offered his assistance to Tsuchiya in her future projects; however, she fears that her personality may make Sudo retract the kind offer. Sudo responds, “That’s OK. I’ll support you. As a martial artist, I have a penchant for pain.”

The promotion and accepting an award happen either before she was pregnant or when she was 1 to 2 months along (not looking at dates).
