Due to this , 2 of Hilcrhyme's fanclub concerts that were supposed to take place next Tue at Niigata LOTS & next Thurs at Tokyo's Shinjuku ReNY have been cancelled

Wow that's quite shocking . I never would have thought DJ KATSU does drugs but this's awful especially since Japan's views towards drugs has never been good

This's really bad as all of Hilcrhyme's releases are now not available for purchase online , be it physically and/or digitally

DJ KATSU's arrest must have been really serious because I never seen such drastic measures happened . Even video clips relating to them that used to be uploaded on Universal Japan's YouTube , they're all now gone D:

Needless to say , when I tried ordering their physical releases via CDJapan , HMV Japan , everything's all 'scrubbed' away & now suddenly even 2nd hand releases of their items are so hard to get hold of on auction sites

Man this's so awful , I couldn't help but feel sorry for TOC . He doesn't deserve this

Hilcrhyme's KATSU Arrested For Marijuana Possession + Group Dropped From Label

DJ KATSU, a member of the hip hop duo Hilcrhyme, has been arrested on charges of marijuana possession.

The arrest occurred on December 1, and reports began to surface over the weekend.

According to officials, 4 joints were found at KATSU's company office, and one bag of marijuana was found at his personal home in Niigata.

Hilcrhyme was on a fan club tour when KATSU was arrested. The duo's agency cancelled the remainder of the tour due to his arrest over the weekend.

On December 4, Universal Music announced that it had cancelled its recording contract with Hilchryme as a group, and cancelled its management contract with KATSU.

Effective immediately, the company will no longer be shipping Hilchryme's physical products, and is no longer distributing the group's content digitally.

Group member TOC will remain with Universal Music as a soloist.

Hilcrhyme to halt their activities due to DJ KATSU's arrest

Hilcrhyme have announced that they will be halting their activities.

This was decided due to DJ KATSU's arrest for possession of marijuana. Besides halting their activities, Hilcrhyme's recording contract with Universal Music has been cancelled, shipment of CDs and other works have been suspended, and their upcoming fan club tour has been cancelled.

On halting their activities, TOC commented, "It is unfortunate to make this announcement in our 11th year of activities, just as we were about to make a new start." He continued, "Currently, I am hearing things indirectly from the lawyer, and haven't had the chance to talk to KATSU. When the time comes, we will talk and decide what to do from here on." In the meantime, TOC to continue his solo activities.

This news of DJ KATSU is devastating for Hilcrhyme. Just when you thought Koki Tanaka's marijuana possession arrest that resulted in the tanking of INKT was bad enough...the erasure of Hilcrhyme's releases and Universal dumping them - all because of DJ KATSU's arrest - is darn right even worse.

My friend & I personally think Universal Japan took DJ KATSU's drug arrest way too harsh

Now suddenly getting a hold of Hilcrhyme's material is impossible and even digitally which I feel it's ridiculous

I'm worried on Hilcrhyme's releases now as Universal Japan owns the rights to their stuff

Hilcrhyme's KATSU Released From Prison On Bail

Hilcrhyme member KATSU was released from prison on December 28.

KATSU was arrested on December 1 for possession of marijuana. He was indicted on December 22.

On December 27, the Shizuoka District Court set bail at 2.5 million Yen (22,150 USD). This was paid, allowing KATSU to be released from prison on the 28th.

A date for KATSU's trail was not immediately set.

Hilcrhyme was dropped from its label due to KATSU's involvement in illegal activities.

This's really sad D: While I feel DJ KATSU was in the wrong , I still think the charges that Universal implemented on them is way too harsh

Then again I don't understand the way Japan work at times where some issues to them it's a super big no no (but to us foreigners it's no big deal) but on the other hand , they turn a blind eye on other more serious matters
