Wow...listened to some of her music and she's great! Her voice is amazing and her compositions are really good! She's just not the type of singer I like listening to...but she's really good! Oh and BTW...am I like the only person who thinks she looks kinda like Utada? She also sounds alot like Utada as in her voice...

i can't believe that stephanie (who is much less popular) has her single leaked already, but JYONGRI's is still unavailable

Yeah, Steph's single leaked earlier than JYONGRI's, and it is strange cus it didn't even make it on the charts (as far as I know, it didn't get into the Top 50 at all so far). Hmm...

"Maybe Someday", we will get the single. No pun intended, lol.

So Jyongri was discussed on a podcast I listen to, Gaijin Kanpai today...(per a comment from the user whoopy pants...who i tihnk is sora-kara here?)

anyway, It really was interesting to me, because I actually really loved her first single Possession...and well they were talking about how possession is so much different than all her other lovey songs that have followed, and that it's kinda like a totally wtf single lol

I actually haven't been able to get into any of her songs after possession lol and i never really noticed that...soo...yeah...interesting...

what do you guys think?

but i'll copy+paste here for the people who havent read it:
good show. its my first time listening actually. it was more enjoyable than i expected. hahaha but i just wanna say something about Jyongri. Everyone is really hung up on Possession. Its a fantastic song, but I think it was a really misleading single for her to start her career with. While the vast majority of Jyongri's material is all lovey-dovey sweet and romantic ideas, Possession is the complete opposite, and revolves around the idea of owning somebody, and not necessarily in a romantic or mutually beneficial way. It deals with obsession as well, and has a slightly creepy, stalker feel to it that was such a new idea in a pop world flooded with idealic love songs. Part of what made that initial release stand out so much was the subject matter; I'm amazed that a person who wrote a song like that could turn around and put out two albums filled with songs revolving around completely typical and mundane topics.
I think the real reason people keep bringing up Posssession when discussing Jyongri is that it is a complete turn-around from the vast majority of her material, and as her first release, most people who caught on to her then thought they had found an interesting artist with a great sound and unique view of love and romance, and now they feel they've been completely mislead.
Having said that, it took me a while to figure Jyongri out. I wanted her to be the artist Possession lead me to believe she would be. Now I've realized that that is not what she's about. And now that I have accepted that, I've really started to enjoy her music even more. I've come to really enjoy her second album recently. It has some fantastic tracks, and holds together really well. Her latest single that you mentioned, Maybe Someday, is fantastic! I was not expecting such a great song! It took me completely by surprise, and it shows that while she's staying true to her standards, she's also maturing as an artist. She really is a good song writer, she just needs some new subject matter.
