* GACKT has just started his new tour "Visualive Arena Tour 2009 Requiem et Reminiscence II Final" on June 13. The tour will cover eight concerts in four cities. On the frist day of the tour, he made an announcement that the official spelling of his name will be GACKT, consisting only of uppercase letters.

So now this thread should be renamed GACKT thread II? lol Everything this guy does amuses me - I wish I had the power to make everybody in the world know who I was and to spell my name in big capital letters too! xD

So, what does everyone think of Faraway ~Hoshi ni negai wo~? I'm listening to it kind of quietly today because my dad doesn't like rock music so my opinion of it may change.

Faraway reminds me of an upbeat version of the simpler-tracks on DIABLOS, it's also got some english at the end like My Father's Day too. It's pretty good, but nowhere near as catchy as Koakuma Heaven.

(Speaking of Koakuma, did you guys happen to hear that one of the models from Koakuma Ageha passed away? Apparently she died of a brain hemorrhage. T-T)

OBLIVIOUS ~Kao ni nao Tenshi~ is pretty. I really want to see an English translation of the lyrics. But again it doesn't have the catchyness of my favorite single thus far.

There are numerous translations online. for example gacktisgod's, amaiakuyume's and uranus-sama's versions.

i'm really loving all of these recent singles from him. In Flames is just amazing. Suddenly is probably my favorite song from him now, and LOST ANGELS is beautiful.

Wow, he's making quite the comeback. And a couple of these songs are reminding me of his older upbeat stuff, like Another World. That makes me extremely happy actually. This + me getting back into anime via the new Fullmetal Alchemist is making me really happynostalgic for my teen years. ^_^

That said, I refuse to shout his name every time I say it. =P

Nya, I wouldn't say 'quite the comeback,' he never stopped making music and never wanted to. He just takes his time touring, shooting, acting and recording xD

But, IMO, the music he released in the last 6 month were, sound-like and voice-like, the best he recorded in a long time. The last single, that made me totally love him was Black Stone, that was 4 years ago xD
I mean, I like his 2005-2007 songs he released in the meantime, but songs like RETURNER～闇の終焉～ or 野に咲く花のように are not even in my Top100 GACKT Songs list xD Erm... not even close o__O;

Now I just wish, he'd make a re-recording of Secret Garden, ANOTHER WORLD and Last Song, cause ANOTHER WORLD sounded like... woaaaah... in the last Music Fair Performance >___<

Is it true that he has like 10 or more A-side songs that are eligible to be on his next album? o_O

I don't follow Gackt closely, but he's been releasing so many singles, and a lot of them aren't on any album yet, so I'm wondering if he's going to release an album with all those A-side songs? Maybe this year, cus it's his anniversary? Maybe he'll just pull an arashi, and put all those songs on some BEST album, spanning his whole career or something.

That's a little complicated.
A-side songs not on an 'album' are: No ni Saku Hana no Youni, Returner ~Yami no Shūen~, Justified, Jesus, GHOST, Journey through the decade, Koakuma Heaven, Farwaway, LOST ANGELS, Flower and the next decade.
But Justified, Jesus and Journey through the decade are on compilation albums or Soundtracks and the No ni Saku Hana no Youni & Returner ~Yami no Shūen~ singles were release 2007, so I don't think GACKT would actually add them to the next album (dont fit the theme of the newer songs, other style)

So that leaves GHOST, Koakuma Heaven, Faraway, LOST ANGELS, Flower and The next Decade for now.

He kind of did that already ^____^
The sixth day & seventh night, is kinda like a Best Album, with his best selling Singles on it. And I don't think GACKT would do that again, although he's GACKT, so you'll never know, what he tries for in the end xD
