^ If you like Shikata, then you should probably try out all Kalafina songs (well, as much as you can manage!) "just to be safe". Most of their songs are incredible anyway, and more will remind you of Shikata, too.
The closest to fairytale I can think of right now are: Hikari Furu snow falling lapis fairytale is one of their more unique songs seeing as they are quite experimental (or at least, were) in their sound. |

Do you happen to like anime? Because the composer behind Kalafina did a lot of job to some popular shows.
I like Shikata as well, so Kalafina should be in the same vein with your preference. Just try one of their album, you should be blown away. Other than the songs that Chiharo mentioned, I can only think of those: ARIA Kagayaku Sora no Shijima ni wa seventh heaven

Visual-kei bands, lolita girls, anime's music are really popular in many countries, and K-pop is getting very big (especially boybands)

Just finished listening to "Seventh Heaven" by Kalafina. Prior to this, I've listened to the "fairytale" single which I love, so I thought to give more attention to these girls.
I'm amazed at how beautiful this album is. Wow, the chorus of Ongaku is like an electro slower paced chorus of talkin 2 myself by ayu. Anyone else noticed this? They even say "Bokutachi wa" at the exact time as ayu at one moment Q_Q I can't choose a favourite, so many great songs here. And i really appreciate the use of multiple woodwind instruments, it creates a fantasy atmosphere. Also, the last song resembles a lot another ballad from the album, but I can't put my hands on it since everything is new to me. I'm entering my sixth year in jpop in a few months and I can't believe I didn't check them out earlier. Last edited by Surreal17; 18th January 2016 at 10:14 PM. |

So glad that you enjoyed Kalafina a lot!
I didn't notice what you said about Ongaku and talkin' 2 myself, now I can't unhear it anymore XD So, have you tried all of their albums? I think you need to hear some B-sides too.

No, this is actually the first album that I listen from Kalafina
![]() Today, I replayed a lot "Natsu no ringo" and "Love come down". After listening to "fairytale" only for a long time, I thought that they only have slow stuff, so I was surprised when the electro "Love come down" came in : )))) |

Definitely listening to more stuff. Too bad that this thread is practically dead. This happening with most artists I like.
