This new GLOBE cover album has made me realize I'm not really a JPOP fan, I'm a 90's JPOP fan. Which is probably why I like ayu's dated-as-hell music.

I was on an ayu PV binge on the avex YouTube channel and I came across Real me and I distinctly remember what I felt the first time I ever saw it. I thought it was the best video I had ever seen and watched it more times than I could count. I remember my mom threatened not to buy me Memorial Address because she was worried I was too obsessed. She bought it anyway LOL. Little did she know it had a PV of hooker ayu playing with man milk all over the place, hehehehehehe. Oh, my childhood.

Sometimes some lines from ayu's songs give me the chills, as if I had been trying my whole life to express THAT particular feeling and she just sings it in two lines with words so simple it gives me the shivers.

does anyone know the song that starts after Haru yo koi? I eep hearing Ayu sing it for some reason but have no memory of the title and can't tell if it's actually her song at all lol it starts at ~5:20.

you guys were fast. lol THANKS a lot. Somehow i never really paid much attention to that track, but i think i like it lol
There are so many tracks that i never really paid too much attention while everyone else was going nuts over them. It really takes time for me to start appreaciating her earlier stuff. Mainly because of the vocals i think. I really don't favour those.

btw, everyone...you know how Virgin Road came out and Ayu met Mannie, they got married later and whatnot? The PV has this epicness about it and whatever. I was watching Return Road, which I never spent much time thinking about, but it hit me how it totally seems like a sequel of sorts to Virgin Road, what with the attire, the photo of her and Mannie, the black wedding dress, and the title being "Return Road" versus "Virgin Road." Even though, I have heard that Virgin Road is about her mother in terms of lyrics.

Anyway, I'm sure someone's pointed it out several times but...yeah... XD

I thought it was pretty disturbing, as well. It just seemed...wrong.

I didn't mind the photo in the PV. He was a character in Virgin Road after all, as in, he was a part of her persona and the canon of her works, not just someone in her personal life.

Actually I thought the photo was the best thing about the Return Road PV because the mixing on the song is atrocious and the video overall was quite boring.

I discovered monochrome earlier this year and it's already one of my favorites tracks as well, it's absolutely amazing

It was tacky and exploitative. Thankfully she seems to have grown out of this kinda crap after getting burnt by MARO.
