Not yet, O looked through happy Box annoincments and sometimes they are even announced as late as the 16th and I think one time also the 21st december

I'm slowly getting tired of checking AHS for new music announcements. It's almost 2018, last studio album has been released in 2016 and I wonder if Avex wants to lay Ayu's popularity to dust for good purposely. Except of the Arena Tour which is only a thing for people that can actually attend it, I don't see any current musical content for the fans o.o

Very boring, but I'll keep listening to the classics and just go on waiting.

She’s literally been touring all year. She’s been working her butt off playing show after show. She doesn’t have a whole lot of time to go into recording studios, do photo shoots and film PVs. This year was about touring. We have been lucky to get new music every year for nearly 20 years. I’m gonna give her a while before giving us new material. It’s not like she’s doing nothing. I’m certain we will get new material next year. Be patient, y’all. She can’t do everything at once.

^ Ofc, it's just that since we're so used to get new material every few months that now that we get nothing aside 2 songs for 1 year 1/2 it feels reeeeeeally weird

Not even a Blu-ray/DVD is weird too. We usually at least have a compilation during a slow year.

Yeah I agree that it feels odd. Then again, didn't Ayu say recently that her passion was for performing? Perhaps touring is more important to her than making music at the moment (and that's justified, given how many original albums she has + the unknown amount of time her hearing has left).

Even a digital single would be excellent. Didn't she say she was in the studio a few months ago? It was from an instagram post I think? Maybe it was just for WORDS.

I was thinking maybe for her anni year she'll decide to have one release per month lol, 4 months just for Just the beginning DVD's (CDL + 3 chapters), 1 month for TA limited live tour 2016, 1 month for ayu-mi-x VIII, one month for A BEST 3, a month for a single, another single, a month for a new album, how coool would it be? Well it's unlikely she'll do that, but let me dream lol
I mean it wouldn't take her much work aside from the two singles + album, she would have plenty of months to get it done while releasing the DVDs and compilation/remixes

why you all so thirsty for A BEST 3? we all know it will be a flop compared to previous A BEST-releases i hope so doesn't release it unless she gain popularity or until she retire

A BEST releases use to sell so much, it would be a shame to see A BEST 3 to sell 30k

^ I'm not particularly thirsty for it, it was just an idea in order to get one release per month and since it's her 20th anniversary it wouldn't really be out of place.
Ayu could easily make the general public forget about the "dramas" she's known for since 2010's and be popular again if her and avex were trying hard enough, but that's not the case, i think A BEST 3 could sell well with a good strategy and hard work, you can only blame it on her and avex for the lack of exposure and ~renewal~.

Was listening to random Ayu songs all day, here are some thoughts:

insomnia is one of Ayu's most interesting interludes.

SIGNAL is amazing in all its dated glory.

M(A)DE IN JAPAN is actually really boring. Mad World is the only song that sticks out.

I remember being soooo freaking pumped when MIJ was released. I came on here and was doing nothing but glorifying it to all ends, claiming it was a masterpiece. 'AYU HAS RETURNED' -- stuff like that. I loved everything about it.

Now, what? Over a year later? I've listened to it... maybe.... twice all the way through. Maybe. I still love FLOWER (Rock Ayu hot damn). I don't remember most of the song titles nor even what they sound like. Same thing with Sixxxxxx. Don't remember a damn song there except Sorrows but even then the melody completely escapes me. MIJ is just so weird for me because I really did love it when it was first released, but I guess it just didn't captivate me as much as I thought

Made in Japan is so forgettable that sometimes it feels like A one was the last ayu album.
