As far as I know Kaoru at least is married and has children and Die is married too, that's what I read somewhere some time ago. But I can't tell for sure.

Edit: There are a lot of strange rumors out there. For example that Die is married to Kaori Yuki, the mangaka of Angel Sanctuary. But this rumor isn't true at all and already 10 years old?

Thanks for sharing, Chibi-Chan! And I finally got around to listening to the Unraveling properly. I have to say that I hated Kasumi before and it's passable now. The title track is ok, it sounds like a Uroborous left over track. Macabre was really good, easily the best song on the whole album. But I think rerecording the Final was a mistake. The song is just too iconic as it was, the unplugged was beautiful though. It reminded me of Aint afraid to die, which I really like.

I feel the same about THE FINAL, but I LOVE the unplugged version!

Kyo looks really scary... xD

They're playing here next Thursday but I have no interest in seeing them sadly. Kyo looks pretty cool though!

I've seen them 4 -5 times starting from 2005. Their current setlist doesn't interest me at all unfortunately. And if they play their oldies, its the re-recoded versions which I don't really like.

Shinya and Kaoru are basically the same. The others have changed, except for Die who has turned back to Vulgar era I didn't like the last two albums, it seems like the ages have passed since I was a fangirl

NEW ALBUM 『ARCHE』 2014.12.10 TO BE RELEASED!

It has been 3 years and 4 months since the release of the last album “DUM SPIRO SPERO” (Aug 3, 2011) and now DIR EN GREY’s 9th full album “ARCHE” is set to be released!

DIR EN GREY NEW ALBUM
『ARCHE』
2014.12.10 RELEASE

This album has been named “ARCHE” which stands for “the origin” in Greek. From the point where ‘the album has finally taken form’(Shinya) the band embarked on their nationwide tour as they continue work on the album.

‘This album is being worked on with me thinking about the past and future of myself as a vocalist, more than I have had ever before. That place where the old me and the new me crosses is what is being put into the 9th album “ARCHE”’ (Kyo). Showing their inclination in regards to the new album from the musical point of view they commented with the following, ‘We will end up with an absolutely new and different sound from DIR EN GREY as compared to the previous album’ (Die), ‘No matter how I try to explain this “sound” with words I will never be able to do it” (Toshiya).
We received the following words of assurance, ‘I can’t really be overstating the album, which is yet incomplete, but please wait for that first blow of the force that will be”ARCHE”. (Kaoru)

You can read the full transcripts of the band’s comments on the album on the OFFICIAL FAN CLUB「a knot」、OFFICIAL MOBILE SITE<DIR EN GREY ONLINE> Member’s Only page.

^yeah, I guess so. xD

I'm also looking forward to the album. I have a love/hate relationship with Dum Spiro Spero, some songs I really love or parts of them and then there are those songs in which I just can't stand Kyo's vocals. Or a song is in parts really great but gets all destroyed by the vocals at one point.
But since I really loved The Unraveling and Kyo's side project sukekiyo I have hopes for ARCHE.

By the way, Arche is also a German word and means ark. I was never aware that its origin is Greek and that it seems to be a Greek word too... Interesting xD

Well I do hope they find a middle ground soon, in terms of their sound. I think their best sound was between withering to death to Uroborous.
