Hey guys ! I'm a new AKB fan .. I've been listening to their songs for a while (Kamikyokutachi is love ) but I want to get to know the members better, does anyone have recs for shows that I can watch ? And if a place to watch/dl them online with subs ? I checked out stage48 but I'm supposed to have lots of posts and stuff, but barely know the girls so what am I supposed to post about ?

I can't help you much though because I don't watch their shows much, mainly for the fact that I barely understand Japanese and their isn't many subtitles available. I prefer their performances instead.

You can check out the AKB dramas Majisuka Gakuen and Sakura kara no Tegami if you want to see the girls act.
One member of Stage48 used to have a great livejournal account with lots of AKB downloads but unfortunately they had to close it recently. Though if you searched on google you can find lots of links still.
AKBINGO is AKB's main variety show. Their are some subtitles on the link I posted above. Unfortunately there are not many subs for AKB shows.
But you can still get to know the members through researching them reading their translated blogs on the blog48 live journal account and watching them perform.
This is what I have done and I didn't find it too difficult to learn the members names and choose favourites!
Even just lurking on Stage48 for a while and reading other members posts about the girls helps you learn about them!

For getting to know the girls blog48 would help some. I also second watching Majisuka Gakuen and Sakura kara no Tegami.

Yes lurking Stage48 definitely helps.

So Majisuka Gakuen 2 starts on the 15th yay!

Also they are opening a store in Taiwan. They are also currently hiring.

DiVA is also supposed to go to Shanghai the Kobe Collection 2011 Shanghai fashion show.

anyway AKB didnt have any major roles exept for MG , SKnT , Densen Uta , ICE, and Mendol , did they?

^The only other one I can think of is Naruhondo High School and MG2. But the list gets quite long if you want to include the individual girls who have had roles in non-AKB dramas as well. (And in reply to your post on the last page, yeah I agree no3b and Miichan are awesome. )

I got AKB's Nogashita Sakanatachi video collection today!! Anyone know why they are fish though?? I never got it I got a Haruna card with it pretty awesome!

Nogashita Sakanatachi literally means "Dropped fishes" or "The fishes that (we) let go", making a reference to the problems that AKB had with their previous record label that made AKS to sign AKB to King Records. The video collection was released under AKB previous label DefStar Records in order to milk some money from the group when they became a hot topic.

Thats definity the best way....anyway girls who graduate like Rina and for example Michiru (the one who released single as Goi Michiko letf 2007) who left to get more popular must be like extremly mad right now seeing AKB popularity
