In Japan, Amuro often performs to tens of thousands of fans at a concert.

Of the slow sales, Mr Hosking says: "We are not obligated to fill the building up, we can only sell as many tickets as she is popular for."

Does this imply she possibly cancelled due to half empty stadium? If this is even right.

I remember how afraid I was when I saw only about 200-300 (or maybe it was only 100?, can't really tell) people on Gackt's concert in Leipzig/Germany and how scared I was he'll feel offended and cancel the concert XD but he performed with 200% power and made us make up for the missing audience, it was even cooler than Ayu's full Saitama Arena Got so much respect for him after that <3

I think Gackt has a lot more control and say than Namie does though. It was likely a management decision. For Gackt its not such a big deal because all he has to do is get himself and his band over there, but with Namie there would be a lot more things involved - all things that cost money.

^omg, did Gackt really do that? That makes me love him even more lol.

I could see that happening though. I mean...I don't think an artist should do that, but I could see at least Namie's team making that call (not necessarily she, herself though).

Big Bang did something similar to Gackt when they performed in the states - well not nearly the same numbers but - in the fancams for their second NJ performance there was obviously like a whole section of empty seats but it didn't even seem to faze them.
