I don't see any additional info regarding the DVD/Blu-ray contents of Finally on CDJapan and let alone on Namie's website

Frankly I doubt the DVD/Blu-ray contents will be terrible and it really makes no sense if Namie only include PVs from Red Carpet onwards especially since this's dubbed as her final last best album

If so , something's wrong , you wouldn't call it a complete best album for nothing

Seeing that only the bare minimum info on Finally was only released a few hours ago , I don't think anyone should jump to conclusion and say that this final release of Namie sucks

edit: but, it is not A COMPLETE BEST ALBUM, since some a-sides will be missing

Yep I don't care anymore. Nothing in life matters anymore.

And I don't think Amuro-sama is throwing shade at the committee for excluding her as a opening ceremony candidate, and even if she retires it doesn't mean that the opportunity still isn't possible. She could make an exception to produce one song post-retirement, or nothing wrong with her making a performance with one of her past songs. Hero would obviously fit in well as an opening theme, and NEVER END might even be better.

Truthfully, I thought Namie would pull a Seiko Matsuda/Madonna and sing/dance forever. She seemed like a workaholic so....Ugh this retirement news this just too depressing!!! She was my role model throughout my teens and I've loved every single she's put out since Can't Sleep Can't Eat I'm Sick (when I was first introduced to her). Sigh...I'm also guessing she's pulling out that Best so soon so she can spend the rest of 2018 touring.

Maybe she'll surprise us and give us that 2nd checkmate, and a best of b-sides???? That's only probably just wishful thinking tho lol...

I saw on HMV, that ordering from there will get you an original B2 poster. An HMV exclusive. No picture yet.
Quote:

And since it says "HMV ver." I suspect other stores may each include a different one.

Edit: yep, tower records also is including a poster

Wow, the price is only 4600 yen. I expected it to be like 6000 yen and more.

On the other hand Namie has a vast trayectory, probably she has fulfilled most of her wishes regarding on producing music but also -and not less important- she is pissed off at Tokyo 2020 comittee or Avex for doing this shade on her and she quit mainly because a lack of motivation (she doesn't have much else to do when she has done practically everything, artistically talking).
I doubt the 2020 Olympics had anything to do with it. I can't see her going, oh, I don't get to perform at the Olympics? I'm retiring. I honestly don't have high expectations for who will be performing anyways given that it's AKB48's producer who is doing the opening ceremony (closing as well?)

Honestly, I just don't think she was ever as passionate about music and performing as say someone like Ayumi is. She's 40 years old. She's been performing non-stop since she was in her early teens and she probably wants to go out while she's still on top.

Now because of this though, I really selfishly hope Ayu doesn't retire. They are my two main jpop loves.

I'm sure it's because they want to release a complete PV collection at another time. Separate releases equals more money. This is Avex we're talking about here.

Daaamn, I didn't see this one coming. I thought she's going to be Japanese Madonna and continue singing, dancing & being relevant until she can't anymore. I can't imagine how her fans feel, my friend who was a fan for a very long time is devastated. He wasn't expecting her to retire so soon.

yeah, WANT ME WANT ME was my first J-Pop song. i saw it on german television and decided to look it up. I became a huge fan. My first purchases were from her. She is with me for 13 years now. It really feels like something is breaking away. My playcount is way over 50.000 + the black number.

But for those who said they expected her to do as long as she can like other idols: i never saw that coming - it still hit me hard

Why bring ayu into this tbh?? Also, namie will never ever open up about anything. She keeps her thoughts and her life private.

^why not? Ayu is a good example of some that said ""I live for music". She wasn't mentioned in a bad way and I think it is a fair compare.

It's not her thread, and I'm not into her, but how do you guys think Ayumi's relationship with music will be like in the future? I mean, she's becoming deaf, right?

^now you mention her far beyond what people wanted to say. Ayumi literally said "Music is my Life" whereas Namie always hinted she wants to stop to some day. In her So crazy tour she apologized for still doing this in a small skirt (and went on doing it for 15 years lol)
