I really hope Ayu performs at MUSIC STATION Ultra Fes. It is a ten hour special that is airing on September 23rd. I don't even care if she sings old songs. I miss seeing her do TV rounds whenever something new is released.

I can't believe I am saying this but The GIFT is truly my favorite song of Ayu's to have come out in years. The piano is simply beautiful, the progression of the song is inspiring, and her voice is perfect. And the PV was extremely pretty.

I think it outweighs a lot of the things she's released in recent years. I know to some people it was just another boring ballad, but I think it is so much better than a lot of her generic ballads.

I also love the gift. The final bridge gives me chills. The lyrics are so beautiful yet so simple. Very underrated imho

Here you go! But since it's from 2011 I don't think it has something to do with that lol
i remember reading this interview back then and she said many curious things.
Like she doesn't have a key to her house, her manager gets her home...
or she hasn't seen all the rooms in her house and she is never alone there...
that is raising so many more questions XD

The GIFT is so simple yet so beautiful. Also I get so relaxed when I listen to it lol. The lyrics aren't anything special but I LOVE her voice on it, it's so gentle~

The Gift is definitely great. I'm really particular about ballads, but I love the Gift someho . It's an easy listen as well. I don't get tired listening to it. Her ballad game was on point for A One when it came to Walk, The Gift, and Story.

Exactly, I agree with you completely.

I also ended up loving Pray in the end, though I thought it as dull as paint when I 1st heard it.

Q77. What’s your favourite English phrase?
Ayu: LOVE.

We were warned.

I remember liking The GIFT ever since it came out. The piano intro and outro sets the mood perfectly and the way Ayu sings it really conveys the anxious yet excited feel of the song.

When all is said and done it's not actually an interesting phrase lol (it's actually just a noun). Effervescence sounds much cooler
Imagine if Ayu had a song called "Virulent Effervescence" or something. Now that'd be cool.

Maybe when Ayu thinks of 'love' she thinks of all the different kinds of love there can be and maybe that L-O-V-E song, lol. (the CM song she used to sing for BOSS coffee was based on it)

Fall queen.

Diana Garnet (a Washington DC anime fan) recently debuted as a J-Pop artist and I think she sang Voyage on the new DOWNTOWN show along with 4 other foreigners who sang Japanese classics.

I heard now in a row ayu's older audience songs.
I said I should try to do it because she performed them a lot and I was so sick of them and never like them that much because of that.

So just now I tried to listen to them in a row and...I think I found they magic.

I felt kinda really bored (and a bit annoyed since I caught a cold), but they are actually really really uplifting!!

I heard independent, UNITE!, flower garden, + and AUDIENCE (songs that ayu used to do a lot on concerts and I got sick of them fast), but now I think that I finally made peace with them and not mind ayu singing them like I used to.

They are uplifting!

She tries too hard smh, i don't care that westerners try to sing and perform in japanese, but she tries so hard to look japanese it almost looks like cultural appropriation.

I would get pretty bored at those songs when watching the DVDs but after experiencing those crowd hype songs like You & Me and SUR~evo~SUR, I understand it. And I really do miss the classics like independent. Those were the shit man.
