JIYOON IS GOING TO DO A SOLO OMGOMGOMGYAAA

In November 2009, Cube Entertainment announced that 4minute’s Hyuna and Jiyoon would be making solo debuts.

As we move into 2010, Hyuna did release her solo album Change but there has been no word about Jiyoon’s solo debut even though it’s June. Until now.

Cube Entertainment has finally spoken and revealed that Jiyoon will make her solo debut this summer and expressed that everything is already in place.

A representative said, “We had originally planned for Jiyoon’s solo album to be released after Hyuna concluded her own solo activities. But we had to postpone the release because of 4minute’s Asia promotions. We will ready Jiyoon for her solo promotions around July – August, after 4minute’s promotions are concluded.”

Jiyoon has been one of the fans’ favourite since debuting with 4minute and they will be anticipating to see what she will bring to the table.

How Gayoon hurt her eye?

The recent eye injury of 4minute member Gayoon has brought up concerns over her eyesight.

“I hope my eye gets better soon. I’m worried that my eyesight will get worse.” Gayoon said in a recent interview.

The reason for her eye injury is slightly bizarre though. A paper tag from a shirt poked her in the eye as she was putting it on for a photo shoot.

“The tag was in front and while trying to move it to the back it scratched my eye. The tag was made of thick paper so the injury was worse.”

Group mate HyunA said “We had five different outfits but Gayoon’s was the only one with a tag. I guess sometimes there is no avoiding getting hurt.”

Gayoon continued “I had to cancel the next day’s schedule because of my injury. I just stayed in my room with tears in my eyes. I had to go the emergency room twice. My cornea was torn and because I received first aid late I got an infection.”

On June 2nd pictures of Gayoon voting with an eye patch brought her injury into public view. “Because of my injury I was contemplating not going out that day. But it was my first time voting so I knew it was important to do.” Gayoon also performed recently on Music Bank and Music Core wearing sunglasses.

Earlier this month we reported than 4minute’s Jiyoon would be making her solo debut in July or August. However, it was been revealed that there was possibly a misunderstanding, and that she is not making a solo debut.

In a recent interview with TV Daily at the MBC Dream Center, Jiyoon said that it was her first time hearing that she was going to release a solo album.

On June 6th, media reported that Jiyoon would be releasing her solo song after 4minute’s activities for Huh were over, in August/September.

When asked, Jiyoon replied, “I too was surprised when I saw that article. So much so that I even asked the company if I was going to make my solo debut. However, even the company representatives were like, ‘Where did you hear that?‘”

When asked if there were any plans for solo albums, acting or other activities, Gayoon responded, “All we’re thinking about right now is 4minute’s album“.

Maknae Sohyun continued, “We want to get our name known to the public, not as individuals, but as a team.”
