■ Acting or Singing, Ham Eunjung is Multi-talented

This young talent is really unstoppable.

Sports Donga conducted an interview with one of today's main idols who is both an aspiring singer and actor, Ham Eunjung (23). This member of girl group T-ara has been on many different types of dramas - from romantic comedies to historical ones and movies.

On June 9th, her movie "White: Curse of the Melody" hit theatres. The public was very interested and wanted to meet her through a Twitter interview. The interview lasted through the course of four days since Eunjung's schedule was extremely tight because T-ara went from Singapore, to Japan, and back again to Korea for music promotions.

Fans flooded Twitter with their questions for Eunjung.

Question: Haha Eunjung-nim posts comments while watching "Greatest Love"! Are you in the Dok-line or the Pil-line?
Answer: "Ah.. 'Greatest Love'... I'm actually worried right now... [because] both the Dok-line and Pil-lines are good."

Question: Since when did you become such a good actor? What do you think is the secret to acting? I'm wondering if you still receive actin lessons;;
Answer: Hah, I've had... a lot of acting controversies before. Ever since the 'Coffee House' days, it's been like that. Heh~ I don't receive lessons. ^ ^”

Question: While filming 'White', what was the best moment?
Answer: There's two. The first one was when we showed everyone our singing and dancing. The second was was during the last scene where I looked grotesque... Ahh... But now that I look back, even during the weird and unfortunate times, it still felt great.

Question: Have you ever thought about going for a musical or theatre type of production? If so, what kind of character would you like to play? What is your favorite musical?
Answer: If ever, I think I'd want to play the main character in the musical "Chicago" or Lucy from "Jekyll & Hyde". I'd definitely want to try stage acting. In the same way, I'd like to see myself in a play as well.

Question: Which director and actor would you like to work with [in the future]?
Answer: I would like to work with Director Jang Jin, Director Hong Sangsoo, and Director Park Chanwook.

Question: I'm a Japanese fan. Do you think you will appear on an dramas or movies [in Japan]?
Answer: I've read a lot about good Japanese films as well. I like it. If I'm given the chance, I'd like to star in one too.

Question: What type of actor would you describe yourself as?
Answer: I think I like the word "Chameleon". I want to be the type of actor that can play any type of role and someone who plays characters well ^ ^.

Question: Which female drama lead character do you think is the best hit?
Answer: Secret Garden and Cinderella Sister... It was acting put to the next level, I think (??).

Question: Which nickname of yours (Ham Baek-gu, Jam Eunjung, Tap Eunjung, Ham Minam) do you like best?
Answer: I like all of them... But Ham Baek-gu and Tap Eunjung is... lol

Question: To Eunjung-unni, what are the T-ara members?
Answer: We're making a comeback soon. You know that right? ^^ But either way, to me, they're family. If they weren't here, then I wouldn't be here. We're like sisters~ and you guys know well how sisters are to each other ^ ^.

Question: Do other members of T-ara wish to do a movie altogether?
Answer: I think all T-ara members would have that thought. We've all acted at the same time in "God of Study" and even if it was a short time, [it was good]. All our members actually enjoyed that time! If we work together in acting, it would be very fun, I think lol.

Question: When you're not working/doing anything, what's missing?
Answer: Uhm... "Greatest Love" lol. There's also a lot of interest in fashion. The small interior things!!!!

Question: Being in WGM, if you really do get married, would you still continue in the industry?
Answer: If I get married, then once I do, it will be a time of emotions, time of age, and time of charm. I want to do it properly.

Question: If you were given three days to go on a vacation anywhere, where would you want to go? Tell me what you have in your mind for 10 seconds~
Answer: Paris, France (I have a friend that lives there and I want to feel relaxed that way), Switzerland (I'd want to see the Heidi Girl [of the alps] and eat their cheese!), and Brazil (because I'd like to feel their passionate energy).

Question: If you could recommend a book for fans what would it be and why?
Answer: It would be Lee Byeongryul's "Feelings". When it first came out, it was a best seller and until now its a book that I really like. When I'm in vacation, the way its written really triggers my emotions and its good.

Question: What would you like to try and advertise?
Answer: A car... An automatic car... hahaha.

Hyomin appointed as T-ara’s new leader

T-ara will be switching leaders from Boram to Hyomin for their “Roly-Poly” comeback next month.

Core Contents Media explained, “In order to instill a sense of responsibility in each of the members, we have decided to change the leader for each new album release. We will be passing the leader role onto members who have not been leader yet. The reason Eunjung was leader during their debut was because she and Hyomin had trained the longest with T-ara, and we felt that she would be the best fit.”

They continued, “Likewise, Hyomin has been chosen for T-ara’s Japanese and ‘Roly-Poly’ promotions for the same reasons as Eunjung. We have made this decision after much discussions with both the members and our agency.”

T-ara will be making their comeback on July 1st with “Roly-Poly”, a track composed by Shinsadong Tiger and Choi Kyu Sung.

I think Soyeon will probably be the next leader. I like the rotating leader system because it gives a chance for all of the members to have a sense of leaderhip and responsibility

^^ I don't believe they started the album jacket photoshoots or MV filming yet, and just Eunjung went to Malaysia for WGM filming and she won't come back for 4 days (the 18th). so i'm guessing they won't start filming the MV or shooting pictures for the album jacket until at least the 19th. Hopefully it'll start in the very beginning of next week and they can start teasing us with concept pictures by the end of next week

"No matter how difficult (it is), I'll do my best like a roly poly firmly rising to one's feet."

Girl group T-ara (Boram, Jiyeon, Hyomin, Eunjung, Qri, Soyeon, Hwayoung) began a fresh start last year with their addition of a new member, Hwayoung, making them the 7-member group they are today. Now, they are dreaming big to begin their career in Japan. They're also advancing into a coffee business. It takes an extreme amount of effort. Each member, besides their group activities, has been in dramas or films or in some type of performing arts. They literally are everywhere. But since their debut and to now, our Focus newspaper that had been growing with T-ara, they also didn't forget to congratulate us on our 7th anniversary. Via e-mail, we had an interview with T-ara about their new business and Japan activities.

"It's been nearly 2 years since our debut and it seems like it(Focus news)'s changed a bit from the past. We've changed a lot since our debut as well so we're kind of similar. Haha."

T-ara announced their "yayaya" activities last year in December. They also released their first album as a 7-member group, which received great response. Eunjung had to sit out for some promotions, due to a knee injury, but all of the members were also busy in their personal activities. The 7-member group announced their comeback to be on July 1st with the new track called "RolyPoly".

"'RolyPoly' means that no matter what happens, you have to rise up like a roly poly. No matter how difficult it is or what hardships you're going through, you need to look forward and stay strong and proceed on, it's similar to us (T-ara). 'RolyPoly' can be called the 'Bo Peep Bo Peep 2' but it's more like disco that was popular in the 80s with an emphasis on the modern elements, we plan on showing a retro-style we can call our own."

In nightclubs during the 1970-1980s', there were popular dances like the hustle dance, diamond dance and ABC, which will all be reinterpreted on stage. It will be a reminiscent atmosphere of the legendary rock group, Bee Gees and their song "Night Fever". Even the album title, "John Travolta Wannabe", is retro.

"We thought of this concept when we watched the movie 'Saturday Night Fever'. It has a passionate, enthusiastic feeling that is catchy and stays with you for a long time. The feeling on stage will be like the film's character played by John Travolta. In our spare time, we even listen to retro music to prepare. We also look at fashion magazines or pictures to help us prepare for our performances."

After they release their album, T-ara is planned for a showcase in Japan on the 5th at the Shibuya-AX Hall. T-ara signed an exclusive contract with the Japanese company J-ROCK for 350 million yen (4.7 billion won). T-ara will release the Japanese version of "Bo Peep Bo Peep" on August 3rd, and afterward will begin their Japanese promotions.

"We can't help but to do both domestic and international activities, but it's also true that it's more expensive and burdensome on us. Our members might get frustrated, but we'll work and try our hardest. Without losing our original intention, we'll show you us having a passionate and enthusiastic look on stage."
