I am however going to say that when I came across "THE MUSIC INDUSTRY EXPOSED" on youtube I wasn't intentionally looking for it, it came up in another video I was watching on the side bar ... out of curiosity I clicked it and found it to be quite intresting and informative. ok... if i say im a raingirl, that means i sold my soul? maybe i meant that i'm offering myself to the world b/c i want to give abundant love in a selfless manner, not necessarily selling myself to boost an industry. i understand ayu's public persona (as i don't know her personally to say i understand 'her') as someone who gives herself without regard to herself, independent of her lyrics, her work, her whereabouts, and someone who never seemed to want something in return in the form of a spotlight, in other words, fame. she came into this outside of her will, thus she used it to initiallyjust to save her a$$ (psychologically to be specific), and eventually found some compassion out of it as a gift she can offer to the world so they can live on like she did.

so... selling her soul? like, seriously? for someone who writes her own dayum words? who knows what's truly up for Ayumi Hamasaki in particular, but i think the most important thing is--let us decide for ourselves. don't choke your understandings down our throats.

The scandal is four years old but it's still relevant to her career and image. She is still known for it and judged by it - hence why people discuss it. It's not anti-Erika to do so, it's just discussing a pivotal moment in her career and image. :/

Well in that case, let me link all the videos and articles of her improving her career, which in that case would be completely off-topic. I'm just tired of Erika-haters using this as a free bash session Like seriously, as an Erika fan I understand it was a "huge moment" etc, but in retropect it's only because the media went all crazy over it. In reality, not such a big deal. The amount of times Western artists and actresses have been rude and totally just said "Oh, bad day sorryyyy ", and Erika has to deal with the backlash for years. I was stating it's incredibly unfair to a talented actress, not stating that it should never be discussed. It should of been forgotten, rightly so - I can name much bigger scandals tbh - but whatever, if people want to rehash old facts, let them.

Trust me, I am well aware of her efforts to improve her career - because she appears enough on news sites. Evidently, she isn't being very successful at reviving her reputation, as this thread proves.

If someone wanted to hate on Erika properly they'd talk about divorce, not the attitude she had in that interview. Those who don't follow celebrity news like you or I? This one incident is what she is known for. And isn't anything only an incident because of the media? I imagine plenty of horrible out of place or whatever things have been said with no backlash - as there was no media presence.

Most of the comments about Erika and the incident are because scandals are remembered over positive things you do. I'm indifferent to her personally, I've never seen her act and I've only seen news from both pro and anti Erika. I like what she's trying to do - change the industry, I just think she's doing it the wrong way. By meeting Ayu maybe she'll see how to both be independent and deal with backlash effectively so something like the interview doesn't happen again.

The video of her comments was posted because somebody didn't know what the incident with her was.

All I was trying to point out is that, for you, as an Erika fan, what appears as old news is in fact the ONLY thing a lot of people know about her. Fans, such as yourself, can correct them all you want but it's irrelevant when her own attempts aren't being successful to win back her favour.

In my opinion, it's going to be a 'big deal' until she becomes known for something else - releases a hit song, stars in something big. It's just the way things work. It's not fair, but hey, the media isn't fair..

I'm not trying to argue with you, I just... have a lot to say about her haha I'm sorry if I came off as confrontational, I don't intend to, it just happens because I'm quite forceful in my opinions.

On topic. I really love Erika's dress and hair. She looks really cute, but really elegant. Not too fond of Ayu's look here, she looks cute, but the outfit isn't as nice as Erika's. It's 'cause Erika has nicer hair here for me. I'm so biased towards hair.
