LOVEppears. I don't really know what it is tbh...I just never really feel in the mood to listen to it. It sounds kind of trashy at points to me (I don't know why, maybe the eurobeat thing). There are some songs I really like (Boys & Girls, And Then, P.S II, monochrome) but I don't even really feel like listening to them most of the time.
I guess I have a problem with Memorial address in that I feel that it was a bit...hmm, with only 3 new songs after the singles were released for it...? I still enjoy it, I just don't think my wallet would've coped if I was a fan then haha. MY STORY is my biggest problem. Its far too long! I think 2 mini-albums, or one album plus a mini, would've been more manageable. I like the songs enough on their own, but that ballad section in the middle just kills my attention. For me, MS CLASSICAL > MS.

A Song for XX and Loveppears are quite hard for me to listen because of her vocals...
I actually can tolerate her voice from Duty onwards. From MY STORY and so on are gold for me tbh. |

MY STORY... that use to be my least favorite Ayu album ever. The album's too long and most of the song are boring, but after watching AT 05, I only like the song she performed, lol.

A Song for XX - because of the vocals. I don't mind Trust or For My Dear... vocals as I've seen most people complain about, I actually enjoy them quite a lot, it's the vocals like in POWDER SNOW that REALLY annoys the hell out of me. I like POWDER SNOW as a song, but her vocal in it is just awful for me (although somehow I like listening to the acounstic version in LOVEppears' second CD even with that same annoying vocal). And also from your letter never really kept my attention, really forgettable song.
FIVE - I don't mind she singing with other singers, I actually think that hers and Naoya's voices sound really good together, but, for me, Why and ANother Song are in my top 5 of Ayu songs I really don't care about/often forget their existance. It's not even that I don't like them, I just don't care about them... So it only left FIVE with 3 songs I really like, and I don't feel like listening much to BRILLANT, so.. yeah... EDIT: Adding LOVE and again to the top of the list because, well, they really were singles after all...

ASFXX - same reasons as everyone else
MY STORY - it's just a bad album, plain and simple, I like 2-3 songs

ASFXX because of her vocals, otherwise this album has great lyrics.
And, Party Queen of course. This album is such a mess. Did I mention that it's a Timmy album featuring Ayumi? T_T

at the time, my least favorites are definitely: A Song for XX - for the same reason others don't like it: the vocals. plus, the sound is just wayyy too japanese-y for me. Party Queen - when i first saw the covers and heard the songs, it gave me the impression ayu is having some type of pre-mid-life crisis and wants to project some kind of lindsay lohan/lady gaga partying hot mess image. like she knows her fan base isn't really growing (not that it's diminishing either) so she's jumping on the party wagon to... i don't know, shock us? get more fans? i mean that's why i liked her in the first place was because she wasn't *too* sexual with her image; at least not in a ****ty way. and then all this crap with the divorce and dating maro... y'know, it's like she snapped and doesn't give a **** anymore lol |

Maybe A Song for xx because of the really old (maybe wierd or unique for that time) arrangements, but I still love most songs on it.
![]() Depend on you made me love ayu. |

i generally don't have huge issues with ayu albums, but i think they've drastically declined in quality since GUILTY. i think they all have the same general sound, with a few gems.
but i guess i'm not particularly fond of GUILTY (it was the first ayu album i truly felt "...eh" about) and Party Queen (i felt it was such a downgrade from Love songs/FIVE tbh).

NEXT LEVEL was still somewhat OK, but it just goes down from there. I was afraid I'm falling out from her music but even her recent ones don't just capture my attention anymore

01. GUILTY
02. NEXT LEVEL 01. Because I find it so bland. There's only few songs that I really like on GUILTY anymore and it saddens me because this album used to be one of my favorite Ayu albums. :< 02. Because I have so many bad memories connected to this release from this one certain place so I can't find myself enjoying anything that's connected to this release. :< |

I can't stand Memorial Address. It's the biggest, most recognizable flaw in her discography. It is nowhere near the level of FIVE.
