Should it be "If I could flow like the wind"?
Actually I don't know the difference between "a wind" and "the wind". Could you explain it simply and tell me why "the wind" is better in this case?

another suggestion: "if my life were as transient as a flower" may make a little more sense... since all life really is transient ^.^**
You are right. In this part, she thinks that her life is transient, too. So how about this?

If my life is transient like a flower
I'll be in full bloom by your side
And after watching your smile
I'll fall alone, just quietly

And I've come to think that "burned" (moeru) in the very first line would be inappropriate. How about "scorched" (kogeru) instead of "burned"?

By that, I meant that "a wind" makes it sound like "wind" is a physical object. When I imagine "the" used, I think of it more like "can you get the ball?" vs. "can you get a ball?" I guess it's just me thinking like this, so sorry for the confusion.

She began 2004 with a wonderful song. It's a bit like her old songs in a way but that makes it lovelier. The lyrics are powerful and emotional. I really love it.

i think it depend. when u say "can u get me the ball?", u r referring to a particular ball while when u say " can u get me a ball? it refers to any ball.

hmm...
Masa's Translation of the last few lines -

I'll be anything
If it can make you never be seized with fear

but the romaji part is longer than that... -

Kimi ga mou kore ijou
Nido to kowai mono o
Minakute sumu no nara
Boku wa nani ni demo narou

:? Did Masa-san just shorten it or what? *stupid saku here*

Woop

You rock for the translation!

I like the beat to it, very depressing. I always wondered why she uses "Boku"...hope thats not a stupid thing to wonder. Always though it was because it fit better in some lines more then "atashi" or "watashi" or "watakushi"

To Sakuragirl421

Yes, I translated this part rather freely, because if I had done word-to-word translation, I thought it would have become so long and complicated. But if you have any suggestions, please inform me.

Kimi ga (you) mou kore ijou (no more)
Nido to (never) kowai (fearful) mono o (thing)
Minakute sumu (don't see) no nara (if)
Boku wa (I) nani ni demo (anything) narou (will be)

Thanks sooo much for clearing that up, Masa-san! I don't understand Japanese well at all but seeing it that way makes sense to me now.
