Only some girls I once knew in Middle school who got me into Ayu when they recommended one of her Fly High remixes.

I know some people that I've managed to turn into Ayu-maniacs by making sit in front of my PC and force them to listen to her music, look at her photos, read information, even made them learned japanese. God, I'm such a caring friend. hihihihihi

Hummm. I live in Quebec, Canada. And there's plenty of Ayumi Hamasaki fans.

Plenty.

I know a couple of people, I know about 8 people, 4 are so-so fans, 3 are larger fans, and 1 of my friends like's her as much as me, but doesn't have the money to support her, so whenever I buy a lot of CDs with and extra that I already have, I give it to him, I think he has 8 CDs now lol.

Wow, old thread resurrected!

But yes, I do know Ayumi fans (it probably helps that I take Japanese courses >_>). I also know people who don't like Ayumi's music but it doesn't bug me out or anything. I find that I meet more Utada Hikaru fans, though (and surprisingly, a lot of people who like J-pop boy bands!).

No. People would laugh at me and call me wierd if they found out I listen to "jpop" everyone here is into the rap/r&b/hip-hop scene. Plus there is this really stupid belief going around that you should only listen to your "race" music, or music that you can understand..which is untrue. It disgusts me.
It sucks knowing you can't share your interests with someone IRL.
I live in Canada.

I know Ayu fans, one from AHS ^_^ The rest basically consist of the people I've converted into sorta-fans and the straight guys in my Japanese class that like her because she's hot.

I don't think I know anyone who likes ayumi in real life..... If I find them the first thing I'll do is to ask them to join AHS.....

My classmate heard of Ayu because of me. I showed her some PVs to her (evolution, SURREAL, alterna, Sparkle, Mirrorcle World) and she saied she's absolutely beautiful and has an amazing voice ^^
But she dosen't listen to Ayu very often, only once in a while, she's more of a metal person

2 years ago my best friend asked me if a I know a J-pop album which contains electronic/pop songs and I recommanded her the (miss)understood album (back then I didn't knew her entire discography ^^; ) which we both were obsessed with Ladies Night, STEP you, Bold & Delicious, is this LOVE?, Pride, HEAVEN etc. I also showed her PVs like M, RAINBOW, Dearest and JEWEL and she was amazed by them, she sayed she can't even be compared with the other pop artists.
Now she barely listens to any J-pop song ^^;

So, in real life I don't really know big Ayu fans

I don't know. But some of my friends who I introduced them Ayu, do like Ayu. They say they like Ayu and started to be a fan of Ayu. But I know, they don't mean it. They just like her but not a fan of Ayu.
