Not very good pictures to judge but I'd take a guess with her top lid looking darker, presumably light eyeliner only on the top eyelid with maybe some mascara and perhaps just foundation or perhaps powder on her skin so sweat doesn't show up, stage lights are -really- hot, no blush or lipstick at all is obvious. Eyeliner/mascara is common for stage performers, even male although this is more common in theatre, so that the eyes stand out so even from far away you can see the eyes.

i really believe that she has good genes.... hahah something weird my mum say, she say ayu probably has a mixed blood, as in her father maybe a caucasian or a mixed...

sometimes it is the camera angle which make ayu to look a bit different.. yeah thats what i think.. so we still cant judge whether ayu is perfect from the photos, mag scans or live vcds/dvds.. we can only judge if we see her personally... really...

however, in my opinion, i think ayu is really perfect... she is not perfect because she is perfect, she is perfect because she wanted to be perfect

If Ayu WAS perfect, it wouldn't be that fun to be a fan. It's the small things like forgetting a few words while performing Trauma or a tooth a little farther back that make us like her more. I do agree there is a lot of pressure in the industry and she has depended a lot on her looks to sell albums.

I agree with biku. It's the little "imperfect" things about ayu that makes her so appealing, but in my book, she is really amazingly beautiful. To me, her little flaws though actually make her more "human" rather than "imperfect" :b.

Finally found it again, portfolio of retouching, put your mouse over the image to see the untouched, original photo, it gives one an idea of just how much photoshopping can accomplish. Mind you there's women in swimsuits and lingerie and whatnot so not kid safe. For those who know who Vida Guerra is, apparently what made her famous is just a bunch of clone brush and airbrush, her posterior isn't anything to write home about.

^ that's an interesting site, but it's obvious that any pic that's to be published is going to have retouches like that. It's a given. But it's the people's actual personalities that makes them beautiful when you see pics of them without all the glam :3.
