New album: "A Ballads"

Some more info about the album was posted at Yeah!! J-pop. None of this is official, consider it rumor for now:

"A Ballads" may not be the final title.

There will be 14 tracks.

Some of the tracks will be re-recorded.

It really does seem like a lame marketing strategy. Avex seems to keep recycling old material without offering much new material. Yes, A BEST vol. 2 will be a good release in another year or two, but using songs previously on A BEST and from 4 albums ago is a weak idea for a new album. (A better idea could be to make a Best remix album from all the remixes of songs that have been released, but I doubt Avex would do it.)

As Zan said, I'd consider buying it if it was the masterpiece that A BEST was -- re-recorded songs, re-recorded arrangements, etc. But if it's just a rehash of songs put together in a double-disk album, then I'll pass this release by.

We don't know anything other than that this will only include ballads. Also I didn't read anywhere that it would be a double-disc album. Chance are that if there are only ballads on it, it will be one CD. She doesn't have that many ballads. And I'm doubting that the songs included on "A Best" will be on it either. So it will probably include newer ballads, plus some more that weren't on "A Best".

I still think it's not that bad. She's not going to released new material 3 months after the release of her last album. I'm thinking "Rainbow" will probably be her last single off of "Rainbow". You have to remember she had been releasing singles since April 2002, and has released 3 singles with 5 original songs on them. I think she's done with Rainbow material.

No everfree again???? What is up with that? How long are they going to deprive us of that song on an album? And what about "Love Destiny"? Of course, I realize that this isn't the official tracklisting, but "A Song for xx" "TO BE" "appears" "Who ..." "SEASONS" and "M" were all on her A Best album. Although, I would love to hear a resung "TO BE" and "You", so I don't know. I'm still very skeptical about this album.

It would be great if all the songs had all new arrangements and were all re-sung except for the last three mentioned. I hope they add some extra stuff in this CD as well, not just a poster or a small plastic item. Maybe a computer extras?

If they dont, then i guess Avex's marketing department are full of brain dead morons. Theyre really taking her for granted.

the point is, though they re-recorded the song, nearly no change will occur for some songs... it's different with A BEST case, where the old A Song for xx, Trust, and Dpend On You are lame on vocals. well re-recorded TO BE, Who... and YOU? hmm.. sounds a little bit interesting to me... but... are they going to count this album sales with few re-recorded tracks only?

Seriously tho. Avex did this with MAX...with 'Best Clips'. The
Precious Clips has all the PVs and Maximum Clip 1 and 2 have
most of the PVs, up until that time. So I didn't buy 'Best Clips',
and that's the first MAX stuff I haven't bought in...4 years, just
because I have all that.
Avex are a bunch of dolts who love to delay, and cancel and
duplicate.

I think they keep vocals the same on some tracks for a "classic" effect. To be honest, I like the original vocals on "end roll" better than the re-recorded ones. I think some songs should be left alone.

Well did anyone hear A SOng for XX when Ayu sang it live in DOME TOUR?? That was an amazing rendition of it. Too bad she didnt show it on the CD.

What i think would be a better idea is a studio recorded version of duets that Ayumi did with other artists from Ayuready. Some of them sounded really good!

i dunno like the idea of briging another a best album.
It seems so fast! ayu should release a new single not a new album. Afterall people r still enjoying her last and fresh album 'RAINBOW'. If Ayu release another single this mean people will not respect RAINBOW anymore.
I wanr "RAINBOW" to be release as SINGLE!
i'll sure will buy a ballads, but definitly will not enjoy it much.
