Hmmn... it seems like many of you only listened to ayu before... and now getting bored of her... then start listening to other artists. I dunno but my situation is different. I listened to lots of artists in the beginning, and ended up following a few artists' release in the end.

Ahhh I should have joined this forum in the beginning... I have been liking ayu since 1999 but then I got her news from HK newsgroup.. Never known there's a better place to chat.

But you see, old members are gone, and new people comes. I feel like watching a historical movie OR a daily event. This happens every day..

Then I realized how tired I am of Ayu, Ayu, Ayu!
There are a lot more J-pop singers that are better.
Listening to just Ayumi can get really really boring.
And watching her PVs also gets quite boring for me.
There comes a time when one finally realizes that:
Ayumi is not always going to be the greatest,
Lately she's been going down, down down, down.
And maybe she'll go up with her new single,
And maybe she'll just keep going down, down, down.
But it boils down to this for me in the end.
She's got some amazing albums etc, etc,
But really, listening to one artist, even two artists,
Is extremely tedious and variety is very necessary.
I've noticed I've lately been playing anything but Ayu.
Even when I try to listen to a few songs, it bothers me.
The only album I can get through is Duty, because it's perfect.
Ayumi's really not super trendy, or super cute anymore.
She's growing up, her music has changed and "matured".
There comes a time for change, I suppose, all the time,
And even if there's good stuff from the past left over,
Those things won't necessarily better the future. You know?
I don't know, I really am bored with Ayumi now.
I can name all 39/40 singles, I know all the videos.
What's left to do, wait for some incredible new song?
It's really unlikely that she'll be able to wow me beyond Duty.
But then again, there's that little tiny thing known as hope.
But you can only hope Ayumi will get better, but that's it.
No one here can run up to Ayumi with some new awesome song.

Hm. So yeah. To sum it up in less than that essay sized thing:
If I'm not wowed soon by Ayumi, I'll be EXTREMELY bored with her.
Wow. This rant is long, I hope no one took time to read it.
And no, I'm not insane or drunk, just bored and philosophical.

Well I took time to read it and I can't believe you said such things!

Ayumi's really not super trendy, or super cute anymore.
She's growing up, her music has changed and "matured"

Wow... I think Ayu is hotter than ever - just take a look at her WE MEN photoshoot; you can't tell me that isn't the best she has ever looked! Also, her music "maturing" is a GOOD thing! How could that be bad - do you want some Britney Spears type ***** or what? Ayu will always be Ayu and she herself isn't "going down", her fans just are becoming idiots...

First off, It's called sarcasm. And secondly, you were obviously deaf when you heard 'Startin'' because if that isn't the strongest representation of bad pop music I don't know what is.

That's quite negative. Startin' isn't that good, but it is not THAT bad either. You can say the song as "the strongest representation of bad pop music" because I respect different opinions. As a fact I dun like all ayu songs either. But I think "you were obviously deaf when you heard 'Startin'" is quite offensive. I know anime_fanatic21 may have brought down Britney. Somehow it's obvious that Britney doesn't care about her music career anymore and instead she concentrates on her private life (which is good btw if she wants a normal life).

Just wanna tell you, even tho I dun play Startin' that much on my player, I still enjoy the song.

If not for her live tours, I would have ditched ayu entirely a long time ago.

IMO, the album versions of her songs are too high pitched, the instuments are incredibly boring and monotone, and the songs are synthesized beyond belief. I love watching her tours. I really get to hear her mature voice and her band and it's so interesting when she actually puts on visuals (i.e. Arena Tour 2005!) I find myself ripping mp3's from her concerts and listening to those versions over the album ones.

Also, since she has a wide variety of music genres that she experiments with, it's hard to get bored with her. You'll have an artist that does good dance music, but what do you do when you get bored to listening to dance music for the day? With ayu I can switch over from rock, ballad, pop, trance/eurobeat (remixes) anytime. i love how she's established herself in so many places. The sky's the limit.

And then I can never really let go of her lyrical compositions. I think they are well done (abit a little "stilted" sometimes if you get what I mean--but i'm sure that it's just the language barrier) and even though in the future I can see myself listening to other artists over ayu, I will also see myself remembering her lyrical composition over anything.

The strongest representation of bad pop music is Britney stuff POST-Overprotected. Her other stuff is lame. Even Ayu's worst stuff always somehow manages to be somehow better than My Prerogative.

Well I was a little bored with her, but then I got (miss)understood, and now I'm back on obsessive mode. Although I don't think I'll ever get fully bored of her, since I listen to a lot of music, English and Japanese. So I'd probably forget her for a moment instead of get bored.

BanFan rocks.

But everyone is entitled to their own opinion pretty much. And if they don't like Ayu, they don't like Ayu. No real use arguing over it if someone has decided that they do not like something

:] Yaaaaaaaaaay. [Personally, I think that her title tracks are some of her hottest songs that she's done :O! ASFXX, Duty, I am.., (miss)understood, MemorialAddress.. all of them are spectacular!]

Not bored, still like the music but I want more remixes. House, club, circuit, (even trance). Avex should really hire Offer Nissim, Tony Moran, Ralphi Rosario and them.

I think I just need something...
UNUSUAL?
I dunno how to name it!
well, for example, Ku did 12 upbeat singles,
that were released every weak each
why Ayumi are not doing something like this?

I guess she is tired already...
poor Ayumi

DO YOU GET BORED OF AYU ALREADY?
I've been an Ayu fan for about two years now, and I have had a year when I only listened to Ayu, and then I got kinda bored of her and started to listen to other artists. And I didn't listened to her for like two months, and then I started, and now I'm not very bored.. I'm maybe 40% bored...

PVs
The PVs that bore me are only those I've seen so many times! Or PVs to songs I don't like.. so I'm not very bored here

LIVE TOURS
I'm 100% into her live tours right now!! I really love them!! Instead of listen to her CDs I watch her DVDs!! I really love them!

SONGS
I was bored of her songs, but I will never get bored of her newest releases^^ And since I listen to so many other artists, hearing an Ayu song is just fun! Especially if you use Shuffle... And I can say that I listen to her almost every day.. On my CD player, on the computer, on my iPod...

IMAGE
The only image of her I've gtten bored of is the blonde one. Especially the super blonde from the Rainbow days. I LOVED her black hair style!! So beautiful!!! When she started to use black hair I realised how beautiful she is!

So I can't say I'm bored right now.. but I have gone through that kind of period.

Obviously you were not being sarcastic so don't say that you were. Secondly, I never even mentioned STARTIN'... I actually don't think it is that great but you were complaining on how her music was maturing and STARTIN' in my opinion isn't maturing because I don't think it is the best song ever either...

W/E I am not gonna argue anymore but I just wanted to say how Ayu's music maturing was a good thing. STARTIN' is a bump in the road but it still isn't terrible...

lol

One of my really good friends who likes Memorial address like woah said that Startin' sounded really unAyu xD And he's not really a Japan-music freak :]

Basically, Startin imho was like an experiment, or rather.. Ayu picked a composition that was 'videogamey' or at least what she thought to be relating to a video game. Doesn't it sort of fit the swordswinging violence scenes? Maybe not. :\
